Son Loves It! Works Fine with Most Matchbox Cars.,

My son got this as a gift and he LOVES it. He never seems to tire of racing the cars round and round. He even likes to try push the cars up the ramps. In our experience it worked with almost all of our Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. There were only a few that were either too long to make it around the curves or two wide to go down, but the majority worked just fine. Some cars go faster than others, which makes the racing more fun. The only annoying thing is that the track makes race car noises and says things like "Speed, I am speed" and "You're one gutsy race car". However, you can turn the sound off or just remove the batteries if the sounds make you nuts.
Edited to add: I wanted to add that it works with most Matchbox style cars, but most of the actual Disney cars from the movie Cars do not work. They are mostly too wide for the track.

My 3yo chose this with his birthday money. It is a lot of fun. We took the batteries out almost immediately. It only said two different lines and they got to be a bit tedious after a while. We tried using the Hot Wheels cars without much luck. There must be a problem with the wheel alignment or something with our cars because The King always seems to win. That doesn't bother my son though. I ranked it 4 stars because it is so limited. You can really only use it the way it is intended with no room for using imagination.

My son recieved the older version of this game 7 years ago for his second birthday. It was one toy he kept playing with over and over again. To mix it up a little he'd race his other Hotwheels with his brother. Some cars didn't work very well, some went faster than the original cars which added to the fun. I am buying it for a little boy hoping he'll enjoy it as much as my two boys have.

Says that its compatible with Hot Wheels, but they don't work very well with it. The Hot Wheels either fall off the track right away or go like 3 inches and stop. The cars that come with it work fine, but kids like variety and get bored from using the same 2 cars over and over. And if your kid loses a car, they don't sell replacements as far as I know. Hopefully they do eventually.

My 2 year old son is a huge Cars fan (Lightning McQueen, etc...), so we've been building his collection of Cars. We received this as a gift and were excited to open it, but quickly disappointed when we realized that it would not work with the original Cars that we have been collecting (the kind you can buy at most stores that say "The World of Cars" on the package).
So, one star for this product. Feels like false advertising to be Cars branded, but then only to work with the two mini-cars that are provided (mini-Lightning and mini-The King). Seems like the company could have designed it to be a little bigger with slightly wider tracks and then all of the original Cars would be able to work on it. By the way, in our experience, we tried some Matchbox cars on it, and they tended to be too long for the track and got stuck.

I purchased this toy for my 2 year old son who LOVES the movie Cars. It's the perfect size for him to carry around, it's got a nice carrying handle. I have found that regular hotwheels or matchbox cars tend to move slowly and get stuck on the way down and the regular die cast Pixar Cars are just to darn big to use. The perfect cars to use (even better then the ones that come with Raceway) are from the Pixar Cars Mini Adventure series. I am very happy with this toy - not too expensive and has kept my son's attention for more then 5 minutes!

My 2 Year old loves this. It works well with most matchbox and hotwheel cars. He has even raced his take-a-long thomas trains the fall off but he loves it. This is just about the only toy that he will play with for long periods of time alone. We love it!!!!!!!!!!

My 2 year old son really likes playing with this. I was a bit dissapointed because the description says it is compatable with other diecast cars. My son has a ton of them so I thought it would be cool, however, 95% of them are too big. It works great with the two small (plastic) cars it comes with, but even the smaller hotwheel cars don't work too well on it.
Overall I like it since my son has fun with it, but I'll have to try and find some small cars to fit it in case he loses one of the two it comes with.

We got this for my son's first birthday because he loves to drop things and roll cars. It was great until my nephew came over this weekend. Gulp! I keep hoping he hid them here and didn't take them home in his pockets where they would be lost forever. I can't find the cars and apparently there are NO REPLACEMENT PARTS. Hot Wheels don't roll past the first curve... so at the moment we have a toy that doesn't function since there are no cars that work on it.I would give it 4 stars if we could still play with it. Update 11/7/2011 Keep trying other die cast cars. We did find some Matchbox and Hot Wheels that worked even better than the original cars. We found the original cars so the need to order anything disappeared. I finally gave the set away now that my son is 3. He still liked it when he "found" it in the closet, but has so many other tracks that something had to go.

My 2 year old son loves this racetrack but it doesn't not fit the regular matchbox cars as advertised. The sounds the track makes each time a car goes down do get a bit annoying after awhile too. Overall, though, my son does enjoy playing with this toy.
