Like this item, it's large and clear and easy to read. Everything is colorful and well made. Kids can put things in the slots easily. The item easily hangs from 3 grommets. One disappointment though - the cards do not come pre-cut. They come on one large sheet and you have to sit there for 20 minutes cutting them. Very annoying. Otherwise, great item.
In terms of age group - my daughter is almost 4.5 yrs old and she understands the weather concept (though I don't think she knows how they forecast it!), she knows her 7 days of the week very well, she gets the idea of today, tomorrow and yesterday (but can't read the words yet), and she can count the days through the month. However, she is not yet ready for the set of abbreviated cards "Sun., Mon. etc" and there is a definitely a confusing transition when we get to the end of the week and have to start from Sunday again. Everything gets moved over and I don't think she gets all that yet. I would say the chart is appropriate for her level and that she gets enough of it for it to be appropriate, but that there is still plenty for her to learn and understand about it. Which is, I guess the way it should be. |
