I shoot NRA Bullseye pistol and wanted a way to view my target when on the firing line. Originally I got an IScope thinking that would function right.... nope... the Iscope was a waste of money. When I saw this I really didn't have high expectations... I mean... if the $100 attachment wasn't going to function.... how was this thing gonna do? Well... awesome... just awesome!

The Nitty Gritty

First... If you're looking for something that you can run and gun with. This isnt for you. The system attaches to my spotting scope great... but if I were to bump into it or grab it from the phone it's coming off. But like I said... in my application i'm setting it up and it is stationary so this isn't an issue for me.

Second.... You need to line it up. Once you have the sight picture in the center ( it will look small on your phone ) pinch open to zoom in and focus. I shoot pistols at 50ft so this is a necessity for me anyway. Make sure to put it in video mode on your iphone.. the picture stabilizes better than photo mode. Plus you can capture your shots!

It came with two different rubber rings and an adapter for older iphones. The instructions were.... ok. But it's simple enough to figure out without even looking at them.

I may try a little rubber cement on the ring to see if I can get a tighter fit.

Bottom line:

Is it going to be perfect for everyone... no. Is it an awesome tool for the range bag? Yup! And you can't beat the price.

Works exactly as described with my iPhone 5 and Celestron 15x70 Skymaster binoculars. It takes a bit of practice to use correctly, but there are helpful tips on the manufacturer's website.

Used this on spotting scope, results were nothing less than amazing. No more eye strain, it's even easier to adjust scope using the iPhone screen. Can record and playback shots. But be warned. Camera drains iPhone battery very quickly.

Works quite well. A little patience is required. If you have a standard size binocular you shouldn't have a problem getting this to work. I was able to get this to work with a Nikon Monarch 5 20x56 model. I highly recommend using this with a tripod. Default picture quality (with iPhone 5S) was average and pictures will require a light touch-up. Just a tiny amount of sharpening and photos will look pretty good. See my uploaded photos for test shots.

Note that the rubberized shell is not meant to be used as a full-time case. Use it only for when digiscoping.

On purchasing my celestron 15 x 70 binoculars from amazon, the images i saw in the skies, i felt ther need to capture them with my iphone 5. After countless failed attempts, i started exploring other methods. this is when i came across the carson HookUpz for the iphone.
Seemed a very reasonable price so i ordered one. Took 11 days to arrive, which i was very happy with, way before the expected delivery date. What can i say but absolutely fantastic. Easy to fit, secure on the binoculars and a very central image on the phone screen, everthing i wanted and will be highly recommending this item.

This adapter works as it is designed. Used it with an iPhone 4 and the adapter that came with is worked well. I was not impressed with the initial appearance on adapting it from iPhone 5 to 4 however it does work well.

this is a cool product. It works and is real fun to play around with. I use this on my barska spotting scope. If you are using with a Barska spotting scope you will need to fold the rubber eye piece back on the scope in order for this to properly stay attached. its very easy. to get the focus right you will have to play with the scope itself but also the phone. you can zoom in and out with your fingers on the phone and that helps with the visibility. I set this up and can see my steel at 900 yards no problem. The pic is set at 980 yards away.

This has been a wonderful new twist for our astronomy club's public outreach activities. Being able to take your own photo, and post to social media is a great way to build interest in astronomy!

Would LOVE a device that works for multiple models - not just iPhone 4/4s/5/5s. Maybe that's asking too much.

not a lot more to say, they work perfectly with my Zeiss Conquest 10x30 BT and iPhone 5.

I was expecting that the fit might no be perfect or that I would have to shim this or that.

This centers the camera perfectly and I can see and record far away with my iPhone 5.

Works fine. Well made. Good price. I would recommend this to others. I bought it for my optometry practice to be able to take photos with my slit lamp biomicroscope to show patients pictures of their ocular medical conditions.
