With much the same field of view as regular binoculars, Carson's 3X Night Vision Monocular is just as useful, except that it magnifies in the dark. Its very modern design makes it look more like a camcorder than an optical tool. At night, you'll see almost everything as if it were the middle of the day. Like any truly night-vision optic, however, it is intended for viewing in the dark only and could hurt your eyes if used in broad daylight. People with sensitive or untrained eye muscles might feel a bit of eye fatigue when initially using the monocular, but it should diminish. You might hear a slight buzzing sound while you're using the monocular, but don't worry--it's just the electronic motor, and is normal. --Diane Beall

This is one of the best things I've ever bought! I'm not sure why it's in the toy section on amazon.com, it's not a toy. This is something that could be ruined very easy if not taken care of! It's something that shouldn't just be given to some kid for his birthday, unless he's going to be careful with it. I've never had night vision before, so this is my first time with something this cool. I would recomend everyone getting one!
