It is wonderful to be able to clearly see the splinter. It is a bit tricky to get the hang of, but it works great. I will say that an angle to the tweezers might help grab the splinter that you can so clearly see. Otherwise it is more of a digging it out solution (unlike if i use a needle i can more specifically poke the exact spot and pull out the splinter).

I've used it three times. Each time was to get a deer tick off. They're so small, that the Magnigrip was the only thing we had to get those little beasts. A great buy. Heartily recommended. It may sit around for a while, but when it's needed, it's indispensable.

I ordered three of these for stocking stuffers...yes, Christmas 2011! Each one takes 3 x 395 batteries and most of the batteries are corroded. It's a shame that the item was sent out this way. Rather than take a chance it won't happen again, I will just keep the item and replace batteries, $8 on Amazon. I hope the batteries I ordered are good. The item is good without the light, but much better with it!

This is the tool for getting tiny sharp things out of the skin of small people. And big folks too. The little LED light helps mightily and the glass makes finding the smallest splinter .... well, easier. (Splinter removal is hardly ever easy.) Futhermore, I had a small shipping beef with this company and they were quick to react and make everything just swell again.

This is one of those little gadgets you just can't do without. I have several of these gadgets from other vendors but this is the one that stays in my tackle box. If you're ever on the lake/woods and get a splinter, this is way mo' better than a dull pocket knife. I wish Carson would make a gadget like this for tying fishing knots!

I purchased these when I began to find a few ticks on my dogs. What a magnificant combination of items in one tool. The magnifier is strong, the light helps, and the tweezers are amazingly sharp. They get right against the body of the dog to securely grip then pull that nasty tick head out. I am so glad I purchased them.

I love this thing. I have a 3 year old and this has made it so easy to remove splinters and the rare tick. Seriously if you have young kids you owe it to yourself to have one of these in the drawer.

Works great very fine. I originally bought them to try to take a q tip swab out of my ear. The only obstacle was the light. It is attached to the tweezers and gives you only about an inch of twee-zing power. They do work wonderfully on everything else and the light it includes is worth its weight in gold in certain situations. Not a bad tool to keep in your tackle box or toolbox. I recommend this to anyone.

This is the first tool I've found to help me with those annoying ingrown hairs I get on my beefy thighs.
