5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent chill out music
Relaxed, Jazzy, Laid-back house music. Make me remember my first Naked Music album was Midnight Snack which is released in 1999, what a nice album it was, so different from other mainstream chill out flood. This album is even better with much better sound. Non of the songs in this album disappoint me.

By the way, Amazon.com wrote the release date wrong, it is not in...

2.0 out of 5 stars Close your eyes and drift away.......
as buying this album will provide you with a piece of music, getting you into a gloomy and sensual mood after a hot day spent on the beach. Truly awesome! After heard Nude Dimensions vol. 2, which is a more upbeat album, I really thought the Naked Music record label could impossibly outbeat themselves from a quality and beauty perspective. Well......they did!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A quality chillout collection, and that's not easy to find, December 11, 2004
By
This review is from: Carte Blanche 2 (Audio CD)
Finding good chillout discs is tough. Most of the stuff I've come across have a few decent tracks at most, or maybe just one, and a lot of bland filler, often with poorly sung vocals. Not many are good for playing straight through, without wanting to skip tracks. Enter Carte Blanche 2, a fine disc start to finish. Relaxed, spacy, with a strong but downtempo beat and gently soaring and soulful melodies lacing their way across the music. Suitable for parties, lounging, sipping wine, driving in traffic or, certainly, late-night chilling out. This is easy-going but skillfully done music, that won't insult your taste. The Naked Music people have done a fine job here of striking the elusive balance between relaxing and interesting, mellow but still sharp. The tracks are similar in mood and feel, but still distinct and different. You won't get bored. This disc rewards multiple listenings, and unlike all too many others is actually worth the money. If you've been hunting for that rare bird, quality, classy chillout, this is what you've been looking for. A good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Sequel is Equal, November 29, 2000

When I first listened to Volume II I thought the label had gone a little too downbeat from Volume I. But, as I listened further I began to really appreciate the profound layering and deep lustrous complexion of this extremely fine compilation. I can honestly say that this Naked Music release out of all that I own, (and I own five of them) has stayed with me the longest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lesson In How To Create a Sequel, November 20, 2000

Trust me when I say, that this is a very special album. If you haven't heard the Naked Music sound yet, this isn't a bad place to start. This disc one-ups it's predecessor, Carte Blanche Vol. 1 in every way imaginable. Since I bought this album, it has gone with me everywhere. It's on my constant playlist and hasn't left my stereo yet. Jazzy, not too hard grooves float out of the speakers as soon as you press the play button. It's an uninterrupted mix, finely edited with no ugly transitions. The last track, "True Love" by Aquanote ends the album on such a high note that you'll be prying open your jewel case to see if there's another disc in there somewhere. Even the cover artwork is cool, instantly recognizable as a signature Naked Music album cover. This disc is a gem, second in the Naked Music roster only to Nude Dimensions Vol.1, bar none the best mix cd that I own. Check them all out if you can.

being a House fan from the old days and only buying classics,
i just recently discovered this remarkable and hypnotizing brand of music.
I'm kicking myself for not pursuing this earlier...
Shame on me for giving up hope on House.
It's a nice welcome.

I first heard Carte Blance Vol. 1 a few years ago while I was in Demark. It was like nothing I had ever heard before, it is distinctive and moving. When volume 2 came out I knew it was going to be banging! Being a fan of Hip Hop, Jazz & R&B Naked Music is like candy to me, it has all the right elements. I highly suggest Blue Six: Beautiful Tomorrow also. I own many Naked Music titles but Carte Blance 2 and Blue Six get heavy rotation in my CD player.

This album is really my this year's favourite and creates an ideal atmosphere for a hot night on the beach. At least I think this is a major turn-on! After having listened to Naked Music's more uptempo Nude Dimensions vol.2 I was certain they couldn't do better than that. How wrong could I be! You absolutely wouldn't regret buying this CD.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Consistent, October 19, 2007

OK, so my girlfriend thought I'd been subscribing to an online porno CD site when she saw the cover. I had to play her the album to convince her that there is nothing sordid happening here. On the contrary, this is quality stuff. Hotel Costes and Cafe del Mar are becoming a bit inconsistent, so it is good to find another source of chill-out and downtempo beats that is worth listening to from end to end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy Masterpiece!!!, April 3, 2001

I have only started listening to this type of genre of music within the last several weeks, but I must say, you will never see or hear this type of music in mainstream radio. Carte Blanche Vol 2 is smooth, trippy and elegantly designed from top to bottom. Every track flows in your soul and stirs it up with good vibes all the way. If you like this type of music, definitely check out the Hed Kandi series (Winter Chill Vol.2, Serve Chilled Vol. 1 and 2)---vol 2 is the best. Also, Afterlife should be included in this list...her vocals are so hauntingly beautiful. All in all, a MUST HAVE!! *****
