I purchased this keepsake chest because I already had the matching memory book and wanted a place to store objects that can't fit in a book. The chest has three compartments: one holds the memory book perfectly, one drawer is an inch deep and divided into three areas, one drawer is two inches deep with no dividers. Although it's nothing fancy, it's a nice way to store a baby book and related items together, and it's actually better than I expected.

My only suggestion is to allow it to breath before you store your precious baby keepsakes. It has a slight "new book" smell at first which fades with time.

I have 4 children, and I have 3 of these keepsake boxes. I wasnt able to find one (yet) for my 3rd son that matched his baby book. I bought this one for our daughter and it matches the baby book we bought for her with the same pattern. Perfect place in the top of the box to put the book. Nice slide out drawers below for all those nifty little goodies you will collect over the years. I love having everything in one place, nice and neat. My children love looking back through their boxes now and then too.

I love this chest. Its the perfect size and really cute and convenient storage for a child's first year keepsakes. I was terrible at keeping a baby book, but there were sentimental items I wanted to save. I didn't have a really cute place to store them until I found this chest on amazon. It has 3 levels, the top level lifts at the top and is where you can store a sizeable baby book (if you did one) as well as hospital birth certificate, photos, or other document or large flat items. The second level is a thin drawer with 3 slots. This drawer has been great for storing my ultrasound photos, hospital bracelets, nursery card, and the other little tiny items I saved from the first year. The third level is a bigger, deeper drawer, that can hold the hospital blanket, take home outfit, first pair of walker shoes as well as room to spare. It is just a really cute way of storing and organizing the baby's keepsakes if you are someone who is not creative in creating their own storage (like me). I've recommended this to all my mommy friends, and I will also gift this as a wishing well, or additional gift, at any future baby shower. I love this item.
