When I found out I was pregnant with a girl, coming from an all male house-hold (including the dog), I was excited to decorate her nursery in the most feminine colors and patterns I could stand without making myself sick. I decided on the whimsical butterfly in PINK (of course). So imagine my delight when I came across this cute lamp. I thought, perfect. It's pink, check. It has a butterfly motiff, check. The flowers were just the icing on the cake that the lamp needed, check, check, check. Adorable, I thought. Who cares that the total order (including shipping) was just over $50 bucks, the lamp was going to be that "thing" in her nursery that made it unique and special. I waited in anticipation for the lamp to arrive and when it did, I tore into the packaging, so excited to get it into her room. So... a word to the wise, ALWAYS check the dimensions when purchasing a product online. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly small the lamp was. Tiny, really. So, if you're interested in ordering this product, don't have the expectation that this is going to be a focal point in the nursery. This lamp would be great as a background texture and nothing more because, sadly, it isn't user-friendly, either. The on/off switch is actually on the cord which makes it difficult to get to, as in a nursery, most cords must be hidden. Needless-to-say, I am pretty bummed out that this lamp wasn't what I thought it was going to be, but, it definetly served as a lesson in expectations. An expensive lesson, but a lesson all the same. My advise... it's cute, but for the price, keep looking.
