The Petfect Baby Book,

I searched and searched for a baby book for our first child and after checking out dozens of them, I fell in love with this one. It's pink but not princess themed or over-the-top girlie (which is hard to find). It has all the important firsts and other milestones in an easy to enter format. Plus there's plenty of space for pictures, a spot for fabric/paint/misc. samples and a lot of blank pages at the back for adding. The book comes in a thick plastic protector that I kept on to prevent any wear, which I feel is an added bonus. I would most definitely recommend this book!

Cute, But Room for Improvement,

I settled on this baby book after an extensive search. I found that substantively most baby books were the same, especially the Carter's books, which ask identical questions. Thus, I chose the book mostly based on style. As to the questions, some are nice thoughts(i.e. name of the doctor who delivered the baby), but others are not things I would include on my own (i.e. favorite maternity clothes; recording dates on each and every tooth). There is not much space for free style writing, except for a "letter from mommy/daddy" section, and a "when mommy/daddy first saw me, she/he...")--a total of only four pages. The rest of the questions are fill-in-the-blank prompts.
The books' sturdy construction was a pleasant surprise. The thick pages prevent ink/ glue from leaking to the page behind, and thick plastic cover protects the outside of the book. However, I had a couple disappointments as well. The book has lots of room for pictures, but there are many with non-standard sizes. It is very, very annoying to have to order odd sizes and/or cut up individual pictures. Also, the borders inevitably look off when the pictures are an inexact fit. Also, the immunization schedule doesn't match the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations. There is no room for certain standard shots outside of a short "other section." It's not a huge deal, but most babies in America follow the AAP recommendation, so why not organize the book that way?

This is the third baby book I've done and this by far is my favorite. I've looked through many baby books and this one asks for all the important information to be recorded and doesn't make you go into painstaking detail. Love it!

I like this book; it's the closest I found to what I was looking for. It is easy to fill out and is very cute. Some info isn't really in the most logical order (IMHO) and pages cannot be rearranged. Some things aren't ones I would necessarily keep track of, but there's plenty of space in the back to write down additional info/memories. Photos have to be taped or glued in... doesn't come with sticky tabs or anything, but that's not a big deal to me. The plastic cover is handy as it has kept the book dry and clean. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.
