A fat lady called Mlle. Pflop is giving a concert. The scene in her dressing room in which she prepares for her appearance is quite risqu for any 1930s film, animated or otherwise. Another highlight: an army of mice which briefly performs a piano symphony.7.BUGS & BOOKS (1932-USA). Aesops Sound Fables. The setting is the Bug School, where young fleas and flies come to learn. The schoolhouse literally talks! The bugs dance and sing (rather than learn) and compete in a rousing football game. 8.A CLOSE CALL (1929-USA). Aesops Sound Fables. A hungry cat kidnaps a female mouse. Flowers are transformed into xylophones and the mouses skirt becomes an accordion. Plus, there is a classic damsel-in-distress situation to add to the fun. 58 minutes total.
