I thought this would be very informative and interesting, especially since I am a fellow cartoonist. With names like Jules Feiffer, Chris Ware, Steve Bissette, Art Speigelman and James Sturm you think it'd be a wealth of information by some supremely intelligent auteurs... however the doc revolves around a handful of students trying to make their way through school. It turned from something that could have been great to a reality based drama about people who are often times too young and gullible to benefit from their teachings. I really wished they had based this more on the teachers and less on the students... it could had been a timeless documentary with some really interesting input from some of the top creators in comics, instead it felt like a reality show at a school for cartooning.

Worth the watch, sure... but come on!

Decent attempt here. The people who produced the movie went to the college in the documentary, and you can see their love for the institution and profession in the film. Would like to see more work from them in the future.

This work is good as an artistic product.

This work was also informative about choosing comics and/or art and/or illustration as a career.

Though of course Independents (the other comic book doc) is sweet-hearted and left-field, this one is more polished and in the other left-field. There are a lot of different left-fields, coincidentally.

This documentary was a look into the character flaws and personalities of the people who draw comics and cartoons for fun but who want to pursue it as a career. Many who have talent but no vision and a few who lack the skills to draw but have wonderful stories to tell.
