About the Author

Ann Hazard is a third generation Baja Aficionada. She began traveling the Baja penisula when she was a child, flying into remote places in old World War II cargo planes and landing on dirt roads. She's camped on deserted beaches and in lush palm oases where her family was the only group of gringos for miles around. And of course, she's traveled Mex 1 and spent time in all the places her characters visit in this novel. A graudate of U.S. International University, Ann Hazard lives in Solana Beach, CA with her children, Gayle and Derek and an assortment of pets. She shares a weekend getaway with her sister, Nina and brother-in-law, John in La Bufadora--just a few miles south of Ensenada in Northern Baja.

I've been traveling in Baja for thirty years. Ann has captured the essence of the Baja experiance, both of the land and the people who enjoy it. A wonderful book!

A woman's power novel of four women who travel through Baja together in a motor home. Fictional characters in real places. The women are believable and likable but foremost an entertaining and creative way to present a travelogue. I have highlighted many places I would like to visit when we make our first "road trip" down Mex 1 in our 5th wheel. Ann Hazard also offers some good recipes in the book. Check out her book "Cooking with Baja Magic Dos" for more of the same!

Ann, you should seriously thinks about getting a movie production based on this book, I sincerely enjoyed it, "it really is a stay up all night--can't put down book". Not only could I visualized the baja pennisular in all it's magic, I could visualize the characters and how each brought a different spell to the magic. Best regards from another Baja Babe.
