Good bits, poor design on the adapter/chuck,

The carbide in these bits is very high quality and they last for many many projects if the product is used correctly. I have owned my carvewright for about 5 months now and have made 4 or 5 dozen projects and the original bit is as sharp as it was the day I bought it. The adapters/quick change chuck system is not the best-- the aftermarket chuck "the rock chuck" is a more stable and more predictable way to hold the bits--you can read more about the rock chuck on the carvewright forum. Fortunately these carvewright bits will work in the rock chuck just fine. Buy with confidence and make sure you do your research and learn what you are doing BEFORE carving with this machine. It is not a perfect machine and it has a fairly steep learning curve, but for the money nothing else comes even close.LDR

bit breaks to often,

the bit breaks if the machine gets out of true. This happens when it gets used so you must be on top of it if the sound changes. Stop everything, she's gonna blow! The bits a OK bits just a lot of stress is put on them
