This is a very cute and functional light for any child's room. A photolight sensor to shut it off during the day would be nice (hence the 4 stars, not 5), but not necessary based on LED technology.

I think some of the negatives reviews are due to people's misunderstanding of LED technology. LEDs last about 100,000 hours. Do the math and you'll see this nightlight would need to be replaced about every 11 1/2 years. Secondly, the energy consumption is way less than 1 watt. So the total cost of electricity to run this night over its entire lifespan (again >11yrs) would be slightly less than the original purchase price. What's not to like?

This is really a very nice nightlight, the last nightlight I had in the place before it left a little dark area behind it where the heat from the bulb burned the wallpaper, this hasn't caused any problems. Also, the light emitted from the bulb is softly brilliant, eminating the design etched in the plastic beautifully. The only thing that I didn't like is that I could not choose between the rose or the moon style, I received the rose style but was hoping for the celestial one. Design aside though, I am really happy with this nightlight.

I received the rose, but was hoping for the moon. Mine does not change color, but I do like the light which is more of a blue-white "glow" around the edge and thru the etched rose design. It doesn't bother me that I can't turn it off & on since I'd prefer not having to remember to do that and I like not seeing a bulb. Simple and attractive.

The Two lights are As different as they can possibly be.
1) The "Rose" lamp changes colors via a multi colored LED that cycles automatically between Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and all the possible color combinations these colors generate... Excellent for teaching a small child his colors with some excitement!
2) The "Moon"lamp is simply a White LED that's constant...
This is NOT borne out in the product descriptions causing one to think that since they ship them indiscriminately/mixed they must be similar.... Beware!!!!! I was greatly disappointed... My entire shipment was of the "Moon" design!

This is a wonderful item that fits well in any room. It also givs off quite a bit of light. I highly reccommend this item to anyone searching for a nice looking night light.

This light is OK, but it's on all the time. There's no sensor to make it shut off when there is light in the room. I have other nightlights like this one, but they turn off and they can change to different colors. And I'm pretty sure I paid less for those.

I bought this for my 3 year old daughter. She loves it! It provides the perfect amount of light to keep her feeling safe. Some nightlights were too bright and kept her awake. This one gives of a soft bluish light, and she loves the rose. Plus, unlike some nightlights, it doesn't get hot.

This night light is not very bright. I purchased it with the intention of using it in the bathroom for night time lighting, but it was not bright enough to be used in that area. Instead I had to use it as an extra night light in the kids bedroom. So if you need a shallow, nice looking light, but don't need the light to be bright, then this will work ok, otherwise look for another model.

I purchased this about 4.5 years ago and at the time was looking for a light to put in the hallway of our house between the master bedroom & other rooms. It didn't cost much and I liked the fact it didn't have a bulb or look ugly. I also didn't care whether I received a rose or a moon, although I preferred a moon and think having a choice would be preferable.

Nonetheless, I am delighted that it is still going strong after all this time. I leave it plugged in 24x7 and don't think much about it. It gives off a very nice ambient light that's subtle but bright enough to light up the hallway sufficiently to see without turning on the regular lights.

When you look at the soft blue light of the crystal moon in this light you will hardly be able to stay awake! It is a very soothing image to behold. I wish it had a auto-shutoff for morning light, but I knew it didn't have this when I bought it. I have read in consumer news that lights light this can run 24/7 for 20 cents a YEAR, and the light is supposedly garanteed for a zillion hours but I don't know how you would collect on that seriously. If you only plugged it in at night it should last for 5 years although I can't attest to this for this particular one.

If you don't want a real bright glaring night light, this is for you. If you want a room partially lit so you can see where your going at night, you might want to select something brighter. In fact I think I am going to order some of the ones that Amazon customers complained about being too bright; but this one is a keeper for my bedroom!
