The Mission, (or Mission UK as they are known in the USA) formed in 1986 from the ashes of recently dissolved band Sisters of Mercy. They have crafted their own brand atmospheric Gothic Rock ever since. The line-up has changed many a time as the band has been resurrected through the years but the enigmatic lead singer Wayne Hussey has always remained constant. A virtuoso guitar player (though not playing lead guitar for The Mission preferring to focus his talent on vocals). On Saturday 1st of March 2008, The Mission took to the stage to perform a memorable and momentous gig, performing 'Carved In Sand' live in it s entirety. 'Carved In Sand' was originally released 1990 reaching no.7 in the UK charts and includes the singles,'Butterfly On A Wheel', 'Deliverance', 'Into The Blue' and 'Amelia'.
