Carver Guide Not worth the price
This tiny booklet is not worth the $14 price. There isn't sufficient help within to really make a difference although it has a very catchy title.

Chairpersons Role As Servant Leader to the Board, April 10, 2000
This review is from: CarverGuide, The Chairperson's Role as Servant-Leader to the Board (J-B Carver Board Governance Series) (Paperback)
Finally, Carver made simple!. John and Miriam Mayhew Carver, make the Policy Governance model understandable for the Chairperson in this short booklet. After using Carver's Boards That Make a Difference," for years, I have not found many volunteer board members who want to read his 240 page text. However, "Chairpersons Role As Servant Leader to the Board" is short enough (at 20+ pages) and simple enough for most board chairs to read on the way to meeting. If you use the Policy Governance based on Carver's model, I would highly recommend this (and the other 11 booklets in the series).
