5.0 out of 5 stars 20 Bucks very well spent!!!
I hate vacuuming! It hurts my back and it's just an unfortunate necessary hassle. But with a house full of messy, fuzzy and feathered pets it's a very regular must! I was planning to get one of those roombas hoping to save me on the frequency of the chore but hearing reports that they break down didn't seem to make my problems any easier. My husband saw a swivel...

3.0 out of 5 stars Are you between the ages of 18-25 and don't want to spend money on anything used for cleaning?
I hate cleaning and I rarely do it. There are times where I walk across the carpet and I can feel the dirt and food particles under my feet. When it gets to the point I can no longer take it I whip this puppy out and send those crumbs to hell. Got a lady friend coming over? Clean up. This thing will only cost you about 4-6 drinks worth of cash and having a clean place...

My husband saw a swivel sweeper on TV but I feared it might be another "made in china" electronic susceptible to breakdowns. Remembering those little carpet sweepers from school days I thought this might be a good idea to keep up with the animals. It's a simple minute to assemble, and a few sweeps over floor or carpet and you can see the floor...no crumbs, no fluff, just carpeting. I was really surprised when I went to empty out the canister, another simple task, to find that there was more pet hair, feathers and other crumbs, kibbles and dust than I could see on the carpet! I can't even imagine how this could break which also gives a some piece of mind to know it's there when you need it. The bottom line: it's fast, effective, lightweight, easy to maintain and easy to store. No it won't replace your vacuum or get deep into the corners but it's a real help in keeping things neat, and a welcomed time saver. It has paid for itself in saving vacuum cleaner bags and electricity in no time, but I am especially glad for it having spared my back. A great gadget for households with pets and toddlers, and one I would highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars handy lightweight sweeper, June 30, 2004
By A Customer
i picked up the casabella carpet sweeper on impulse, as it's not very expensive and i struggle with keeping clean carpets in a home with dark rugs and two constantly shedding puppy dogs. it's one (rare) impulse buy i'm not regretting. while it can't clean as thoroughly as a vacuum cleaner does, it's a lightweight implement i can leave handy and use on my carpets frequently, helping keep them looking good between vacuuming. it reminds me of terrible old television ads to say it, but it's also a convenient shortcut to a presentable house (you may have seen these ads- worried housewife fretting as she hangs up the phone "my husband just called to say he's bringing the boss home for dinner, but i don't have time for a thorough cleaning and our home looks/smells dingy and musty! but thanks to some miracle product, it's suddenly fresh as roses and no one will know our secret shame!"). the carpet sweeper is no miracle, but if i need a cleaner house in 5 minutes, it's the first item i reach for. the brush picks up stubborn hair surprisingly well, i like that it's non-electric (one less thing to fuss with, not to mention it saves a bit of energy), and i like the spare, sensible, oddly atractive design.
my only complaint is the design of the levers on the base. to empty the collected debris you must push in a flap on either side of the roller brush and shake out the contents. the motion of the flaps is not very smooth, it's awkward to do with only two hands, and before i learned to keep my fingers away from the edges i got them caught painfully. despite this failing, i'm delighted with my carpet sweeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than a vacuum!, September 4, 2007
This carpet sweeper is incredible! Lightweight and easy to use. Picks up cat hair and cat litter that I didn't even know was there. When I empty it, I am always amazed at what was picked up. Keeps my rugs looking great in between vacuum times...don't know how I lived without it. I recommend it 100%.

4.0 out of 5 stars Light--One Way sweeper--Not efficient, February 19, 2007
By

This is a good looking sweeper. However, it sweeps only on forward direction since it has one brush. We used Bissel dual brush sweeper few months ago. We loved it but it was little heavier and its handle used to come out easily.
Me & my wife feel this(casabella sweeper) is light but is NOT as efficient and sturdy as it should have been. The dirt which is picked up by the sweeper tends to fall down if you move the sweeper little upwards and move it little rigorously while sweeping. So ultimately cannot do a fast & quick sweep. The price is little too high for this quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars does what I expected, November 25, 2007
I have used the carpet sweeper repeatedly, carpet and bare floors, with the success I expected. It is not meant to work like a vaccuum. It picks up tracked in dirt or spilled dry items on carpet and floors, empties easily, and is very easy to store - also lightweight.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great product, November 28, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This sweeper works excellently for everyday cleaning. since I bought it, My 8 year old daughter has adopted the sweeper as her own and sweeping the carpet as her own personal chore. The sweeper works well on both carpet and hard floors. It is lightweight and a pleasure to use.At last I can have a clean house without lugging out the heavy vacuum everyday.Thank You amazon!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't sure I got the right product..., December 23, 2006
My carpet sweeper has blue trim and a yellow brush cleaner... so at first I thought either I didn't get the right product or I remembered the color wrong. Other than that, I must admit that it really is very handy... recently ran out of vacuum cleaner bags and have relied solely on the sweeper for about a week now, and it is doing a good job. And on my rug under my cat box, which is much like the indoor/ outdoor rugs used in almost any commercial business, it actually picks up better than my vacuum / which is a $1000.00 + vacuum. I have a Pomeranian who sheds fur balls... if you own a pom, you know what I mean... it isn't just loose hair, it is tufts of hair that tend to weave into whatever that attach to, and the sweeper picks up the pom hair. I also have a cat, and it picks up the litter around the box very well... off the rug as mentioned before and then off my wood floor too. So, it is my opinion that this is a great investment - oh, and I forgot to mention you can adjust the height by choosing to not screw in one of the rods... great for little ones who like to help, my 19mo. old daughter got to push it around until she lifted it up and smashed the cat with it - the cat was not amused, but she was okay. Point being, it is lightweight - my daughter is not Bam-Bam - and the sweeper is easy to push.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best sweeper I've ever used, August 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Our household has a dog and two messy boys. We have hardwood floors throughout the house but most rooms have a central rug or two. We have a pretty decent Eureka upright that we use for deep cleaning weekly. On a daily basis, we rely on a carpet sweeper.

I bought the Casabella sweeper to replace a Bissell model that I'd been struggling with for years. The Bissell swept things up fairly well but it was difficult to clean out at the end of each use and the handle kept falling apart.

The Casabella does a better job of sweeping things up, is very easy to dump out at the end of each use, and (although lighter in weight than the Bissell) is more sturdily constructed. It also cost about half what the other model cost. We've used it daily for about six months now with no problem at all. I'm going to buy another one for upstairs use!

4.0 out of 5 stars My boy's love this, February 12, 2008
By
Unlike the reviews for other sweepers, this sweeper has a handle that screws on, so the handle does not come off. It is easy to use for my 4 year old, and picks up a fair amount of dirt. It is especially handy for us parents to sweep under the couch - all the way to the back! Only moves back and forth (not side to side), but it's simple, easy to use/clean and no fuss.
