This is a very high quality trivet. Not constructed simply of solid silicon. It has a heat-proof fabric layer at the center that is vulcanized and surrounded by a silicon matrix of hollowed cubes. Take a close look at photo and zoom in.. You will see a seam along the side. That is the fabric, not just a mold line. It is very strong and does not stretch. The trivet is about 1/2 inch thick (way thicker than other silicon trivet). But it is also very flexible because of the hollow construction. And large enough for most purposes--whether it is to set a pot ontop of or wrap around a pan handle, or hold onto the corner of a searing hot baking tray. The price is great for a trivet of this caliber. Good looking and performs superbly.. What more can you ask for? Verdict: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. |
