It is installed in our bedroom..lofted high ceiling. Looks are impressive though I think the name should be airplane fan or Wright Brothers fan as it looks somewhat like an old fashioned early propeller with its bike looking parts/fishing rod and sail cloth. It is gorgeous to look at. The speed right now is very slow. It is not reversible. I think if we can get the technical advice or hubby figures out why the direction is counter-clock wise when the instruction book says it turns clockwise we will be very happy. I want it to work. It looks lovely. Very big but light weight looking and very stylish. The price seems too high for what it is though and thinks the design fee must be the reason. However I am happy. Would I order it again...yes. I am a customer who had trouble getting all the parts here. Finally we have a complete set, but have to return some extra blades still. Casablanca when I called them were nice but the effort to speak to supervisor was not successful. He was supposed to ring back after leaving "early" on the Thursday I called. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm! Seemed suspect that he was avoiding me. He never called The next day either.
Well that does not encourage loyalty on my part. My home has 5 Casablanca fans from the original builder and now this new Malibu Star. Reading other fan retailer sites they say that this fan does not move lots of air....it isn't about lots of power...should have read that before I ordered. Not going to install this in our very high lofted ceiling in the main great room then. I need a powerful air mover there.
