I've had this installed now for a few months. I can't attest to the ease of installation as I had it professionally installed. The features are great, though. I've also called customer service who was very helpful, as well, since the light faded when I pressed the remote twice. Turns out the manual in the box doens't mention what the manual for the remote mentions (not included) - two presses is a mode where the light fades gradually giving you time to leave a room. Anyway, I love the style which was important as it's the firs thing you see when you come in my house. I preferred to spend a bit more for a quality fan with such a main place in my house. Extremely quiet, works well. There's nothing bad I can say about it.

If the control has a beep, you can't turn it off. It's annoying. You can't turn the fan on/off if someone is sleeping. Very poor customer service on the telephone. I have one Casablanca I'm not happy with and 3 Monte Carlo that are great and much cheaper with no beep!

Casablanca has always been the Mercedes of fans. I know people who have 20 year old casablancas and are still amazed how quiet and worry free, such fans can be. UNFORTUNATELY, technology moves on, and Casablanca has tried to ride its wave without success. The three Casablanca fans I purchased through Amazon arrived separately, the first one was very easy to install, everything went great, the remote worked like a charm.

PROBLEM occurred when the other two arrived, and I installed them, then the s...t hit the fan to use an old cliche. The remote became either totally useless or would turn on the light and not the fan, or just could not shut off the light, etc. I contacted Casablanca service which I admit is most courteous and helpful, they sent two additional remotes, these worked for a day and the same problem cropped up.

Casablanca has suggested they send a bonded electrician to conduct the necessary repairs. Frankly, I think the software that activates the fan motor and light is all messed up. Short of installing separate light and fan switches and by-passing the software that controls the fan innards through the remote, I have no idea what is going to happen.

The fan is sturdy and will last many years, the problem is whether I shall be able to use the three fans in my home, or shall have to disconnect the other two and store them in the attic, so that I have at least one fan operational.

Trying too hard to make a neat gizmo can be fatal. Casablanca take note, Amazon too.
