Very pleased with this fan,

Great ceiling fan and the best fan I have owned. Quiet, does not wobble and provides a variable speed cooling breeze. Expensive, but well worth the money and much better than other fans I have owned. Would highly recommend this ceiling fan.

This fan is very quiet. Have a 18' vaulted ceiling (4 foot extension) with an old Casablanca fan and replaced it with this one so to avoid rewiring the Intelitouch. Worked out perfectly. Just be aware that there are two types of controls. You can buy one with just a remote or you buy the other with the Intelitouch (not both). I almost bought the wrong one since I was replacing an existing one that used Intelitouch as mentioned. Also, it needs a break in period since I smelled oil burning for the first day but now it doesn't smell at all. It doesn't wobble and seems that technology has changed since the original one that I replaced. A little pricey but worth the money. Looks great and contemporary. I recommend this fan for those who are looking for a clean looking, well made ceiling fan.

We chose this for our media room because of its modern styling (and
my wife wanted to add an overhead light to the room.) The fan and remote operate perfectly, no wobble, smooth, quiet, the best. The light is another matter. It's one tiny 100w halogen bulb in a frosted glass dish. The light output is meager at best, they should have put two bulbs in there for it to have any real usefulness. (see customer images) The light assembly is also not up to Casablanca's usual high standard. The globe/dish mounts into a cheesy stamped aluminum pan with a bayonet type mount ( push in and twist to lock ) My assembly must have been on the extremes of manufacturing size tolerances (large diameter globe, small diameter aluminum pan) because it wouldn't rotate and lock all the way. When I tried to unlock it, the entire lamp pan assembly started turning instead of just the globe. It's jammed in there, half locked, so I'm not worried about it falling out, but when the lamp finally blows I'll have to remove the entire fan assembly from its mount in the ceiling and take it to the service center (which thankfully is in the next town) and pay to have them repair it. I contacted customer service, and this isn't covered under the warranty. So if you really need a room light with your fan, buy a more traditional Casablanca design like the Panama II 6645A.

Poor quality,

We bought 4 Casablanca fans after reading glowing remarks. Three out of four have developed problems. Two of them make loud noises. One has its light on all the time. We also replaced the switch of one of them within two years. I called the seller who sent me the parts. But will need to call a tech from the factory to replace all the worn parts.
We have owned other less expensive fans that we bought from Costco and Home Depot. These have done an excellent service for almost 23 years. I suggest one should look for other fans which may be a whole lot less expensive and may last for a whole longer time than these expensive ones. |
