It's a good knife.

Having said that, the quality that has made Case one of the best knife makers in the world still shines through too this knife.

I bought my first sod buster in 1975 and have tried a few others through the years, but always had one of these ready. They are very well made and hold an edge very well. It's a great pocket knife to have. I now have the stainless steel knife since moving to the coast. Great knife!!!!

This blue ss sodbuster was the first Case knife I ever owned, and still have that one. Also have a new one, and cv sodbuster jr as well. These are great knives, for the money there might not be a better knife out there. The sodbuster isn't the slimmest Case knife you can buy, but it's a great workhorse and a very very solid knife.

Hubby just loves his knife. He likes how it feels in his hand when in use and is glad I ordered it for him. The knife was in excellent shape when it arrived and came to us fast.

This is my second Sod Buster case knife, and I'm just as happy with this on as I was with the first. These are Case's lower level knifes, their work knifes and are not the polished up show knifes that case is famous for making. Having said that, the quality that has made Case one of the best knife makers in the world still shines through too this knife. The blade is tight and centered, the caseing is even and tightly aheared, the blade opens/closes smoothly. The blade holds a razors edge, and yes you can even shave with one in a pinch (I won a bet doing just that years ago).

These are great handmade american knifes, buy one and you will not be disapointed.

Great knife. Much more substantial than I thought it would be. For safety reasons I generally prefer blades that lock open in some way, but this slip joint that snaps open with authority - solid construction with a strong spring that's unlikely to close under any normal circumstances. Came with a good working edge right out of the box. By working edge I mean it won't shave hair so well, but it slices through tomatoes as easily as my best chef's knives, cuts meat like good steak knife, and goes through baling twine like it's not even there. This is an edge you can actually use.

I do like to be able to open my knives one handed, so I put a screw-on thumb stud on the blade about an inch from the tang, which works reasonably well. It's not a flashy, lightning fast deployment, but you can open the knife with one had while holding a feed bag with the other, which is all I need. This knife is aptly named - it's for farm and ranch use, about as far as you can get from "tactical." That you can get something of this quality, made in America, for around $20 is just astonishing.

It's a large knife... over 4.5 inches closed and over 8 inches open. It's bigger than what I expected but it looks nice. Just wish it were about an inch smaller. That being said it looks like a classic and it'll remain with me for some time.

A large knife for pocket carry, but carries well due to the smooth edges in the handles and is fairly slim. This thing holds a great edge after cutting some pretty heavy materials. Just a little attention with a ceramic rod brought it back to razor sharpness. I like the shape of the blade too. Now I know why this knife has been so popular for so many years. I love it.

Great single blade knife. Sharp out of the box. Comfortable in the hand and light in the pocket! Good deal
