4.0 out of 5 stars Still an awsome series, but has one major problem with game.
If you've seen previous CASE CLOSED DVDs, you may know about the "Crack The Case" game on each disk, where if you choose to play then you watch the episode and pay attention to what's going on, and just before the answer to the mystery is revealed, a padlock appears, and you press Enter on your DVD remote, and it takes you to a screen where you are asked a series of...

This review is from: Case Closed - Dubious Intent (Season 4 Vol. 5) (DVD)
If you've seen previous CASE CLOSED DVDs, you may know about the "Crack The Case" game on each disk, where if you choose to play then you watch the episode and pay attention to what's going on, and just before the answer to the mystery is revealed, a padlock appears, and you press Enter on your DVD remote, and it takes you to a screen where you are asked a series of questions about what happened in that episode, and you have to get them all right. There is one episode on this disk, however, where they screwed up and have the padlock appear much too early.

In the episode,"The Three fingerprints", Conan, Rachel and Richard are invited to a barbeque at the house of Inspector Thompson Edwards, Richards old mentor from the police force. However, Mr. Edwards soon gets a phone call and then says he's got to go meet a gangster who Edwards claims wants his help in getting out of the mob. Edwards tells the others that this man, Morice, wants to meet with him alone in helping to clear his name of an accidental death. Edwards says he wants to go alone, but Richard insists on accompaning him. Conan and Rachel tag along. After arriving at the meeting place, Edwards has the others wait nearby while he goes to meet Morice. However, soon they hear a gunshot. The come and find Edwards standing over Morice, who is dead from a gunshot wound and holding a pistol. Soon Inspector McGuire is called over, and questions Edwards. He tells McGuire that after Morice pulled a gun on him and tried to take his wallet so he could get out of town, and that Edwards tried to get the gun away, and that in the insuing fight Morice accidentally ended up getting shot. Everyone belives Edwards, except Conan, who for reasons everyone eles missed, knows Edwards murdered Moris.

The problem her is that if you're playing the "Crack The Case" game, the padlock appears much too early, and two of the questions that are asked are about things that you don't find out about until later in the episode. One is how does McGuire describe how Edwards acts when being questioned. McGuire doesn't talk about this until the moment after the padlock disappears! Another question is what did the cloth that Conan found in Edwards' study smell like. Conan doesn't even go into the study until well after the point the padlock shows up. The episodes themselves are as great as ever, but in the second episode they had the Q&A game moment occur too early.
