Book Description

May 15, 2010
P.I. Sean NMI Sean is shown a stash of rotting cash and a pistol in his client's back yard. Intrigued, Sean is further entranced when a man attacks him with a length of gas pipe. Research into the moldering money leads Sean, in his red tennis shoes, farther and farther down twisting Minneapolis sidewalks. The trail leads to South St. Paul and an eighty-year-old railway express robbery. Fresh murder suggests Sean is getting too close to a long-concealed secret.

Would you like to go back and read material like that written by Mickey Spillane, Rex Stout, or early Robert Parker? Try this book! It's a quick read and has a main character who works as a private investigator. He's competent and smart with enough short-comings to make him interesting and engaging to readers. His significant other appears often and, like those earlier writers, the sexual encounters are off-stage--making them sometimes more compelling than graphic explanations. Because I particularly like historical tales of gangsters, I liked this one that has a back story about the Twin City area that creates a modern mystery for the main character to solve. This gives the story depth and, for me, a reminder that crime is an ageless part of the human condition. Read it!!

More About the Author

Retired from a local university, I've entered a new career as a reviewer and author. The Michael Tanner/Mary Whitney sailing adventure series (INNER PASSAGESS, A SUPERIOR MYSTERY, OLD SILVER) are my initial foray.

Now I'm branching out with a new series featuring a Twin Cities detective named Sean NMI Sean. His first story is THE CASE OF THE GREEDY LAWYERS. I live and work in Minnesota and travel with that nefarious band of authors called the Minnesota Crime Wave.
