Product Description

The Case-it Z-Binder 2-in-1 Zipper Binder provides twice as much organizational storage in one efficient binder. This easy-to-use organizer features two, 1 1/4-Inch D-ring binders with boosters, two inner elastic pen/pencil holders, multiple inner and outer pockets and a handle and shoulder strap. The patent-pending design opens in a Z-shape, creating a virtual desk of drawers right in your binder. The Z-175, like all of Case-It's binders, uses kraft board instead of PE board to give its binders a firm, stiff shape that won't buckle or warp. The spine is specially designed so that your binder can lie flat when open, making it easier to add or take papers out, and to take notes in. Case-It produces quality binders offering unique organizational tools for school or home use.

I am hoping that we can make it through the rest of the school year with this one, but if not, I will not be purchasing another Case-It product.

The zipper doesn't seem to be very heavy duty, and the material is cheap and flimsy.

This is my second time purchasing one of these binders. My son had one last school year and it held up all year. I'm hoping this one will perform just as well. I did use a different strap. The strap it came with just didn't seem like it would hold up (my son is only allowed to carry a zippered binder to school so he had to carry ALL his folders and papers in this binder). All in all, it's a great binder. Even with my son having 2 100 sheet spiral notebooks, 6 folders, a full pencil pouch and tons of papers in it he still managed to carry it all year last year. I'm hoping this one will hold up just as well.

Bought this for my junior high son. Great at keeping him organized. BUT when the binder is unzipped and opened, the rings come apart just enough that some of the papers come out. It isn't enought of a problem to get another one YET, but it is a frustration for him and waistes time getting back in order. He likes the handle and long strap for keeping his arms free. Also has a place inside that he can store his Kindle.
A FIVE star idea and keeps him from going to his locker as much... but have to go with a THREE becuase of the loose papers from the rings not staying locked together.

I bought two of these for my middle school sons, and they work... but not as well made as I would like. The rings sometimes open up when the binder is opened (a design flaw, the rings get caught on each other & pull open), and the contents fly out. The zipper doesn't seem to be very heavy duty, and the material is cheap and flimsy. If this thing lasts for 3 months I'll be surprised. The school doesn't allow backpacks to be taken to class, so this makes a convenient alternative. If you are looking to buy this binder for light usage, it's a good buy. If you are like me, and need something that is going to keep up with your 12 y.o. boys, this is probably not the best binder. However, I have yet to find a binder large enough to fit everything they need that also has a zipper AND a shoulder strap, so I'm sure I will end up buying these same binders every few months to replace the old ones.

*** Update- we've been through 4 "Case-It" zippered binders (various designs), and they last for almost 3 months before the material around the zipper rips completely down the side & the rings refuse to close all the way. I am disappointed with this brand, because the design idea is great, but they are so poorly & cheaply manufactured that they just don't hold up. My kids have had their backpacks for 2 years because they aren't careless with their things... yet this binder can't last for 3 months. It's so frustrating. For something that costs $15-20, this thing should last for the whole school year. Not happy!

I purchased this locally at an office supply store and LOVED IT for about 4 days. I used it with the shoulder strap to carry my growing stash of coupons. Then, the plastic ring that the strap attaches to on the binder broke and the binder went crashing to the asphalt in a parking lot. I was okay with this, being that I was hauling probably 10 lbs in the binder, maybe more, I am not sure. I was just happy that the zipper was closed and the entire contents did not go spilling out for the wind to carry away. I did a quick fix by using 2 key ring holders and a shoulder strap from a different bag. I loved my MacGyver fix and was planning on finding a better-coordinating strap to go with the binder.... until I found out that when the binder went crashing to the ground, it messed with one of the binders and the rings would not align and stay closed enough to hold the contents. The binder went back to the store and was exchanged for another one. I was again happy with the binder! But a week later, I discovered that the material was separating from the corner seam. If I continued to use it, the whole thing probably would have ripped open.

Great concept... but this binder is not strong enough for heavy duty use. Stronger material and perhaps metal hardware would make it ideal. I returned the second binder and am still looking for a suitable replacement.

Quality is poor. My child liked it first because it seemed to be practical.
Then it started falling apart, after a week.

These Case-It binders are actually pretty flimsy. They are designed very cool with lots of compartments but they tear-up way too fast. I buy my teen 2-3 of these a school year because the strap rings broke, the zipper ripped out of it and/or the fabric tears. Unfortunatly, he has to have a binder like this to carry his things around for school and this is the most ok priced ones out there.
