Good for the price,

I ordered 5 of the Case DVD Storage trays and they do exactly what they are supposed to do (store DVD's). The construction is fine and appear durable enough especially for the price ! My one critisism is that they do not stack real well! Specifically they do not lock in place. Had I designed this unit I would have simply made the interlocking slide with more of a groove which locks in place! To compensate for this I just used some clear Packing tape to secure them together and it works just fine!

In this case, logic is not in favor of Case Logic.,

It makes some sense to order Case Logic's slotted racks for DVDs. When adding to or subtracting from a sequence containing no more than 14 items, it's little bother to re-slot the entire collection into alphabetical, chronological, etc. order with each modification. What does not make sense is paying the prohibitive freight for this piece of plastic, especially when the manufacturer's comparable CD storage trays can be purchased postage-free through Amazon Prime. For the present, I'm just as happy to book-end my prime-time DVDs between a couple of weighty film-history books. (If that plan fails, I'll substitute statues of Sidney Greenstreet and John Candy.)

Case Logic compared to Domino,
By
This review is from: DVD Storage Tray (14-Capacity) (Electronics)
Three of these items will store 42 single DVD cases. Two of the Domino products will store the same number of items.
Just for the heck of it I calculated the total cost per DVD for both sets of items -- 3 cases from Case Logic and 2 cases from Domino, including shipping and handling. It works out to $.59 per DVD for the Case Logic set and $1.12 for the Domino set. I'm about to order 3 of these Case Logic items.

Yeah, these are just what you expect: cheap, plastic trays for DVDs or CDs, and are suitable for that purpose.
One thing, though. They are NOT 7.2 inches in height as specified. They're a full 8 inches tall. So, if you planned on stacking them (as I did) in a space just over 15 inches, they won't fit. This seems a simple enough thing for them to get right.

The case logic dvd storage tray is wonderful! The dvd storage tray easily mounts on the wall of a home / apartment. The dvd storage tray looks great. The dvd storage tray displays all the titles of the dvds that it holds. I will DEFINETLY purchase more case logic dvd storage trays for future use.

I had to do a lot of looking to find DVD storage that wasn't a piece of furniture. These cubes are perfect for compact storage.

I will never forget the day my Case Logic DVD Storage Tray arrived at my door. I remember clawing through the outer packaging in anticipation of how this apparatus might change my life. Upon inspection of the product, I was awe-struck! "The Tray", as I have come to call it, was a masterpiece of plastics engineering. Impeccably molded, I was unable to locate any flaws. Then came the real test. I was reluctant to sully such a thing of beauty with my unworthy DVDs. I had half a mind to leave "The Tray", empty, in a conspicuous place in my living room. It would have obviously made a great conversation piece. But, with my hand shaking, I placed my DVDs, one-by-one, into "The Tray". They all fit. My hat is off to the designers of such a finely tuned instrument of storage. |
