Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
I was able to cram my Seagate GoFlex hard drive plus cable inside this case, but it was so tight that I'm concerned about the zipper eventually breaking. To store the drive, I much prefer the AmazonBasics Universal Camera Case for Digital Cameras HF (Black)which fits the GoFlex perfectly, has a zippered pocket for the cable, plenty of padding for protection, and even costs a few dollars less.

This case is fine for storing items such as cameras, smartphones or video mp3 players, up to about 3.25 x 5.25 inches. If the device is less than an inch thick, you can put flash drives, batteries or memory cards in the pocket.

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who found this review helpful! I recently received a Seagate Slim hard drive through the Vine program, and it fits just perfectly in this case, with room to spare for the cable.

I find this to be a slightly weird case, but it has it's purpose: you want to carry your external hard drive along when traveling or when you're bringing your computer somewhere. What's weird is that the case doesn't offer anything but scratch and lint protection, cable carrying, and maybe minorly obscures what this object is.

The case isn't hard. There's no padding. It'll keep your drive clean and separate from all your other stuff, but won't protect it from being dropped or crushed. It needs to go inside another, sturdier bag to actually keep the drive *safe*.

But really, when do you carry a hard drive around by itself? It's fine for what it is.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
This black Case Logic case fits my 250 GB Seagate FreeAgent Go perfectly. The inside mesh pocket is just right for containing the USB cable for it. The zipper easily opens & closes the case.

The external dimensions listed on the product packaging are: 4.1 x 1.3 x 6"
and the internal dimensions listed on the packaging are: 3.3 x .3 x 5"

The packaging also lists the exterior to be 100% polyester, while the lining is 96% polyester, 4% polypropylene, non-woven.

It is made in China and while the packaging advertises a "25 Years Quality Guarantee," there is no elaboration on the terms/conditions of that guarantee. I can't imagine needing to use that, since this seems to be well made & unfortunately, the hardware kept in this case will certainly be obsolete in less than 25 years, I just thought I'd mention it.

Case Logic makes good products for sure, but this was recommended for my new GoFlex portable drive. The drive itself fits perfectly, but there is no room for the cable... an obvious need. For that reason, I downgraded the stars to mid-level and issue a shame on you to Amazon for promoting a product that is not truly compatible.

This Case Logic HD case does the job -- it has hard panels on the outside to help protect your portable hard drive, and inside, an elastic to hold the drive in place and a mesh pocket for cables.

The interior dimensions are 3.3" x 3" x 5" -- it fits my older model Western Digital hard drive with ease. (I don't have a model number, but it's the slimmer, more rectangular one with sort of a parallelogram profile.)

It lost two stars because I don't feel like the hard exterior forms a good enough shell -- the sides aren't very rigid so it's basically sandwiching two hard panels around my hard drive. This does provide more protection than nothing, but I expected an actual hard shell given the product being titled "Hard Shell 2.5-Inch Portable Hard Drive Case." I feel like if this case was in the bottom of my bag and I dropped in a heavy textbook, it may not protect my drive.

Overall, you'll get a degree of protection and convenience of having your drive and cables all in one place, but if you're looking for something that seems indestructible, don't be fooled by the "Hard Shell" in the name.

This case fits the Western Digital My Passport Essential SE 1 TB very comfortably with room for the USB cable in its pouch. It appears to be well-made and able to protect the drive from minor mishaps like being dropped.

Case Logic rarely fails to disappoint when it comes to quality and construction, and this case is no different. What strikes me as a bit odd is that the actual purpose of this case escapes me a bit. It has no pockets, it isn't rigid, nor is it padded - so it won't hold anything but your external hard drive and perhaps a cable, and it doesn't offer any shock or crush protection. If your laptop bag has an accessory pocket, why would you need this? I actually use it as a carrying case for all of my little connectors, adaptors, and short cables so they don't get lost at the bottom of my bag and end up transporting my portable hard drive in my laptop bag's zippered pocket.

I did send and ask for it to be exchanged for a larger size. because this one that is advertised with the hard drive cannot fit and you need to check these items before linking them. I was told by Amazon to keep it and they will refund my money, but up to now I have not heard anything about it.

The Case Logic EHDC-101 Hard Shell Case for 2.5-Inch Portable Hard Drive was recommended by Amazon as a companion purchase when I ordered a Silicon Power Rugged Armor A80 1 TB 2.5-Inch USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 Military Grade external drive. Both products were shipped together. The external drive is obviously too large for the case and I immediately I wondered why it was recommended. I hope others don't make the same mistake. It is a nice case, however. I'll find another use for it.

A good quality, attractive (if you like black) portable hard drive case, at a reasonable price. It is firm rather than hard, by which I mean it is not a solid case, which is a positive point in my opinion. Inside, there is an elastic strap to hold the drive in place on one side, and a mesh pocket to store a USB cable on the other side. The fit is a little snug for some drives, but I don't see that as a problem.
