It depends what you mean by 15 inches...,

This review is from: Case Logic ENST-116 16-Inch Laptop Sleeve (Herringbone) (Personal Computers)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Apparently no one told the people at CaseLogic that most laptops are sold based on their diagonal dimension, not the longest edge dimension. (This allows laptop makers to say their laptop has a 15" screen when it measures 12" by 9" or so.)
So, in short, my 15" MacBook, which is actually about 12" by 9", is way, way smaller than this case, which says it's for 15"-16" laptops, but is measuring by the longest edge. I've uploaded a picture which illustrates the massive size difference between a 15" laptop and this 15" case. If you've actually measured your laptop, and it actually is 15" on the longest edge, this laptop sleeve will probably be satisfactory. It stinks like crazy when you first open the package, but that fades with time. The padding is thick enough to insulate a laptop from minor turbulence, but won't take any serious trauma. The herringbone pattern is subtle, but more interesting than plain colors. The interior orange is... bright, which is nice but not really important.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This softcover feels like my favorite cable knit winter sweater. Designed for 7-10.2 inch Netbooks, this Dark Grey sleeve features a grey zipper, that opens to a dark magenta foam lined cushions. There are no inside or outside pockets or pouches. This is only a sleeve and will not protect against bumps or falls. There is a disclaimer on the packaging that states the max dimensions the sleeve can hold are 10.5" x7.7" x1.5".

Comfy Case,

My Inspiron 1012 Netbook fits snugly inside this laptop sleeve without a lot of sliding around and it's a lot more attractive than the plain black neoprene sleeve that I had been using.
The construction of the sleeve is solid: the inside is a semi-firm magenta padding, about a half inch or so on each side. The zipper is heavyweight vinyl, with an inch long rubberized tab and the exterior is a gorgeous charcoal gray, thick cableknit sweater-type material. For the sake of the review, I did my best to make a snag/pull in a corner with the tip of a pencil on one of the looser areas of the weave and wasn't able to. I also dropped some paper clippings on it and everything brushed off cleanly with just a tap. I wish there were pockets inside to hold discs so the cases I have wouldn't have to rattle around, but it's a minor quibble.

I never considered getting a knit laptop protection case before, but after using this one I am starting to really like it. I got it primarily for use with my Acer Aspire One AOA150-1447 8.9-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Sapphire Blue. Even though that netbook is a bit small compared to the maximum measurements for this case, it fit in very snuggly and securely. The knitted outer protection feels very comfortable in hand, and gives of an impression of extra protection for your netbook. I also tried using it with my iPad, but the case is too large for it and the iPad is rather loose inside. My only concern with this case is that the knitted surface might get dirty a bit too easily and have all sorts of crumbs caught in it. I tend to work in coffeeshops a lot, and there are always stray food particles that may get entangled. I will withhold my final judgement on this case after using it for a few weeks.

Preppy Duds for your Mini,

I really like this little sleeve for mini PCs and netbooks. I am using it for my Dell Inspiron Mini 10 and it fits perfectly. It is very lightweight and is well padded. I do wish there were a few pockets on the inside for discs or other thin media, but the trade off is a sleeker better looking sleeve. Keep in mind this is 'sleeve' not a case. it is meant to protect your machine while in another container. I really like the design of the outside of the sleeve. It looks for all the world like a cable knit sweater.

A Netbook Case That Also Makes An iPad Home,
By Jeffrey N. Fritz "Nikon Jeff" (Morgantown, West Virginia) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)

I requested the Caselogic ENST-110 7 - 10.2-Inch Laptop Sleeve (Cableknit) case from Amazon because I thought that it would make a decent replacement for the flimsy, cheap case that came with my MSI Wind netbook. And while the netbook fit nicely, the lack of pockets in the Caselogic sleeve for my netbook's peripherals made it somewhat less than practical.
It occurred to me that perhaps the Caselogic Laptop Sleeve would make a nice home for my iPad 3G. After all, it shares the same 10 inch screen size as my netbook and has very few peripherals that need to accompany it. So I gave it a try. Happily, the Caselogic Laptop Sleeve made a near perfect place to keep my iPad when it wasn't in use. With its nicely padded interior and the attractive grey cable exterior, it looks like it was made for the iPad. Sure, it still works fine as a basic home for my netbook--far superior to the anemic case that MSI supplied. But its primary occupant will most definitely be my iPad.

Great case for netbooks,

Having recently acquired a 10-inch netbook, I was looking for an easy-to-use case for transport--and this is it!
This Case Logic product seems to be durable and well-made, with a single zipper that opens from the top corner and down one side, so I don't have to fumble with multiple zippers. My netbook slips out quickly, and I'm ready to work. It also doubles as a temporary lap desk, though for short periods only, since the case will block your heat vents. The outside of the case is a soft fabric that probably won't show much wear, and inside, the case is lined with neoprene to give some added protection to the netbook. The case does stretch a bit, so some people may be able to wedge in a brick plug; otherwise, there's no provision here for accessories.

First of all, this fits my 10.1" Toshiba NB205 netbook perfectly. My netbook's battery sticks out a bit so I was a little worried it might not fit, but it fits beautifully.
But how hard is it to mess up a zippered sleeve to begin with? Well here's what makes this a great sleeve: 1. The zipper's open/close placement is very ideal for easy insertion into the sleeve. Some sleeves or cases that have two zippers or zippers that zip exactly half-way around aren't ideal because the sleeve flops open and makes it cumbersome to insert your netbook, zip up and go. This Caselogic sleeve zips open and closes diagonal from the fully open and fully closed end. This means you can easily grasp the sleeve with one hand and throw your netbook in and go. 2. With the zipper placement diagonal, to zip it up, the weight of the netbook allows you to zip up your sleeve with just one hand. Think about zipping a sleeve/case that has 2 zippers with one hand. Yes, I'm an engineer and I tend to focus on obscure design details! 3. The exterior is a good neutral (herringbone) color and the entire sleeve is padded and soft/spongy neoprene. Has a contemporary/stylish look when you see this up close.

This great looking Caselogic Sleeve will only fit small Netbooks or small gadgets like the iPad or Kindle (with room for accessories). I like Caselogic products and this one easily meets my expectations in quality and design, here are my observations:
+ Good Looking; the brownish herringbone fabric is very classy looking + Good Construction; this is well made and should be durable + Lightweight; good protection without the bulk + Brightly Colored Interior; makes finding small objects\accessories easier My only complaint (minor) is that there is a slight chemical odor from inside the case that I am hoping will dissipate over time. This is a really good case that I expect will last a very long time! Highly Recommended! CFH

Soft and snug. Perfect for a 8.9 netbook,

I received this to use with my Asus 904HA netbook http://www.amazon.com/8-9-Inch-Netbook-Processor-Storage-Battery/dp/B001GIPSAW. Perfect fit for this 8.9 netbook.
Really nice earthy color to it along with a herringbone textured pattern. Inside it is a reddish orange colored. Small Case Logic logo on the bottom right hand side that is stitched in. There is also a tag on the left side. Zipper is nice as it opens in an L shape. So it does open the top and side. It is a sleeve so not much protection really if it is dropped. Really nice color! This was an amazon vine shipment so I have to let you know how it was packaged. First off it was in a 19x13x11 huge box! Inside that box it was filled half way with those plastic air cushions. Another box sized 10x9x9 contained the sleeve. Complete waste of packaging to say the least! This could have been sent inside an padded envelope. |
