I purchased this case as travel storage for my Amazon Kindle. It's a really good fit for the Kindle even when covered with its leather book cover. There is a divider that seperates the Kindle from the A/C adapter. The mesh pocket is perfect for headphones, SD cards and a booklight. I have included pictures of my case with my Kindle in the stock cover, my charger, and my ReLight rechargeable book light.

This case itself is not as padded as I would have liked for a travel case. However, when used with the leather book cover, I feel that it will be sufficient for my needs. I do like the side entry for the case. It makes it easy and convenient to slip the Kindle out of the case.

This is an excellent alternative to the $50+ aftermarket Kindle cases available.

It was a lot smaller then I expected, in fact my lacie hard drive could barely fit inside. Also, it was quite flimsy and didn't offer as much protection as I would have hoped.
I ended up exchanging it for the larger size and found it had all the features the medium sized model lacked.

I bought this case along with an Iomega 500GB USB external hard drive, and found that this case fits the drive, power cable, stand clip, and USB cable just right. The little divider inside the case is adjustable since one end is velcro, so there is some flexibility there, and the netted zipper compartment in the "lid" is a nice touch that makes it possible to fit the USB cable in the case.

I rated the case 4 stars instead of 5 because if you are looking for a case that has a lot of padding, this isn't it. However, I think this is exactly what I am looking for...a case that is compact enough to fit into a bookbag or briefcase and offers enough protection for me to feel comfortable leaving my data inside it. I don't intend to take my Iomega hiking with me, so I think the modest padding will suffice.

Plus, it looks good and has a nice handle.

PM thank you thank you for discovering this case for your Kindle. I'm very happy with mine. I was looking for a good protective case since the amazon cover provides no protection against dust and whatever that it would encounter in a backpack or briefcase, etc.

Only two drawbacks:

1. I wish a shoulder strap were available but I'll probably be able to figure something out.

2. As PM said, the padding is a bit thin, actually only the fuzzy yellow lining around the main part of the case. The curved bottom is lined with the yellow stuff, but it is glued to the hard shell so provides little if no padding there. However, as PM also says, with the Kindle in the amazon cover, I think it is OK. Also, due to the curved bottom, the Kindle doesn't entirely rest on the case bottom, so if you wanted to, there would be room to insert a strip of foam or other padding in the bottom of the case (I'm debating doing this). I put my Kindle in with the sound buttons & jacks down.

By adjusting the vertical Velcro divider so it slants slightly left, the Kindle in its amazon cover fits snuggly but is easy to pull out, and the top is just level with the opening of the case.

The mesh compartment in the "lid" easily holds a Mighty Brite Book Light (especially with the clip turned down to fit into the curve of the lid), plus the USB cable, and a spare set of book lite batteries. I also keep a card with my contact info and a paper clip (for resets - I've had the Kindle lock up on me 4 times so far; I recommend against using the web browser or continuing shopping while a new book downloads or if you're expecting a periodical update.)

In the side compartment of the case body I can easily fit the Kindle power adapter/cord, plus a tiny SanDisk case for the SD memory card and a mini USB card reader, and there is still room so none of the accessories are crammed in or hard to get in or out.

June 2009 edit: In mid-2008 I did put a strip of foam (covered with cloth to make a narrow pillow) in the bottom of the case, which cushioned the Kindle better and prevents the corners of the leather amazon cover from rubbing on the curve of the case. This has worked well for nearly a year now, and also for a friend I gave a case to (with a foam bottom pillow also); the friend loves it too.

The Case Logic case is still the best overall solution I've found for Kindle travel/storage with accessories. In fact, since I can access my IP's web mail with the Kindle web browser (as well as my local newspaper, weather & stock portfolio), I sometime take only my Kindle in this case along when I know I'm not going to need a full blown laptop.

I bought this because of having to transport my external to various places and in between storing it in my room. One of the problems is that in a hurry I tend to forget the USB cable or the power pack. With this I keep everything together so when I need to go I just grab it and toss it into my backpack. The case does not offer the best protection but it fits in my backpack along with school books with no problems, the bigger cases I can't do that.

I just got a second external hard drive so I'm going to be buying a second case in the very near future.

This case is perfect for the EEE. It was designed as a portable hard disk drive case. I easily stored the EEE in the main compartment. The AC adaptor and my Logitech V450 wireless mouse slides into the smaller pocket below the main one. There is still lots of room for flashdrives, SD memory cards, pens, cables, etc in the cap pocket. I am VERY PLEASED with the overall package CLASSY look and how the semi-rigid case protects and stores all my EEE necessities. Comes with a fabric handle that makes carrying it around convenient. Or stow it in your backpack or suitcase and rest easy, knowing your EEE is all safely packed.

I bought this case for a MyBook External HD that I bought. The HD fits snugly in and the main pocket has a velcro panel to adjust the size. There is a zippered pocket in the lid for cords and the remaining space in the main pocket is great for the power pack and cord! All in all this case is perfect for MyBook External HD's and I'm sure that other medium sized HD's would also fit perfectly!

I'm very happy with the Case Logic Medium External HD Case...I purchased it for use with my Amazon Kindle.

Kindle (in it's standard issue cover) fits in the main compartment of the case as if the case were made for it. It feels very snug and safe. I also like the smaller compartment in which one can put the charger and other accessories.

Since this is a soft case, without any type of protective shell, you still need to be sure Kindle isn't crushed while traveling.

All in all, I think this is a great product for use with the Amazon Kindle and I can heartily recommend the Case Logic Medium External HD Case.

I purchased this case to house a Western Digital My Book 500 GB drive. The case and drive are almost a perfect match. WD probably could not have designed a better case.

The case easily houses the drive, USB cable, power cord and xtansformer. The drive slips in easily but is not loose in the case a nice fit.

This case is perfect for my Western Digital Elements 1TB harddrive. It is like it was made especially for it! It has plenty of room for storage and protects my hardrive from most elements of harm... I say most because the case is not really as sturdy as it looks in the picture. The walls are thin and collapsable very easy. This case is not recomended for, say, tough transport. But everday use like putting it in your back pack is perfect. I found this case very reliable for myself and it has slots for power cables.. So overall this product is 5 stars and recommended to all EXCEPT those looking for a TOUGH case for harsh transport.
