Nice looking case, and a fantastic way to protect the Kindle!

Lightweight, but quite sturdy. Think of this as a "wet suit" for the Kindle. Essential, should you hang out at the beach , the pool or outside (thunderstorms happen!).

The product comes with a foam insert that looks like Kindle - and being a curious person (or .. warped) I thought I would really test this. I left the insert in, and added a piece of tissue paper. Sealed it back up ( it is like a super duper zip-lock bag, under the clear vinyl cover with neoprene and additional velcro closure in the back ).

Then,I knocked over a glass of water on it. No leakage, tissue paper intact. Then let it sit under a sprinkler for 30 minutes- again NO DAMAGE or LEAKAGE! Wow.

(My real Kindle was close by, and was glad I was not doing this to it!)

Lastly, it was time to fill the tub with water and drop it in - it floated, then I weighted it, and waited 5 minutes - again no damage!

Okay, okay, I did a LOT more than Case Logic might expect anyone to do, but the product came through like a champion!

On a more traditional level, when Kindle is inside the sleeve, it is easy to use, no problems using any button. I would suggest this as an addition to a regular case - truly essential if you are outside! This is a perfect luxury gift to any Kindle owner, and something that will be used. Far, far better than one might expect.

4.0 out of 5 stars More like a pouch than a sleeve March 21, 2011
Color:Black|Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This water-resistant "sleeve" fits all eReaders and not just the Kindle. My Kindle actually feels a little big in this sleeve. There is room in this sleeve for a few more documents one would take to the beach, out camping, or during a multi-day backpacking trip tp protect from sand or rain. By itself the Kindle slides around half an inch along its side, an inch at the top and bottom, making this feel more like a carrying pouch than a sleeve.

It is, however, well-sealed when closed properly. An airtight locking strip along the edge and a Velcro flap help keep out the elements. I can access the buttons and manipulate all operating modes with this sleeve around my Kindle. I just don't care for the added glare from the plastic face shield.

External dimemsions are 6 x 4x 9.9"; internal dimensions are 4.9x 3x 7.5"

This is made out of 85% polyester and 15% Lycra.

Although I plan on taking this on my next backpacking trip, it doesn't provide much protection for the face against other items in my back, so I will also take my Kindle book cover along as well. With the book cover over my Kindle it does not fit into this sleeve.

This sleeve is ideal for those who take their Kindle outdoors where wind and rain can be destructive. This is not meant for long-term water submersions, though. This is a perfect gift for any servicemember stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan who owns a Kindle; those sandstorms are brutal!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well but adds some glare April 20, 2011
By TechMSS
Color:Black|Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Let's face it, every now and then people like to read while submerged in water. With a traditional paperback book, one doesn't really care if the edges of the pages get a little wet. But with the Kindle, a little water can mean sudden death.

I was looking forward to receiving this sleeve, and despite being marketed as "water resistant" as opposed to "waterproof," it definitely does what I need it to do. I'd like to be able to lounge around on a floatie thing in the pool (or in the ocean on vacation), and use my Kindle without worrying about water damage. Well, this case fits the bill! Even though it's not officially "waterproof," it can easily handle a few minutes of submersion in shallow water (I tested it with kleenex -- sure enough, it came out dry). I will not hesitate to use this the next time I am reading my Kindle around water and want to make sure it stays safe.

The only problem is that the plastic on the sleeve adds some glare to the otherwise delightful reading experience, making it slightly less clear an experience than the Kindle provides otherwise.

That said, it's a good deal for the price. Recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars too big May 18, 2011
Color:Black|Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The case logic sleeve is too big for the Kindle 3. The over large size causes the kindle to move around within the case with every movement of the holders hand. This "swimming"effect makes reading very tedious as there is a constant shifting of the kindle which needs to also be constantly re-adjusted back into position. Maybe it was meant for Kindle Dx, but it is not so described, and the picture showing the product shows a Kindle 3 fitting snugly into the case, it is not so.There is at least an inch of free space all around the Kindle while in the case. Secondly, the case is designed in a way that makes it impossible to reach the controls at the bottom of the case without opening the case. This means even when the kindle goes to sleep, you will need to open the sleeve to access the controls. For me, my kindle goes to sleep a few times during any reading session, especially since i tend to have some interruptions. So, i have to keep on opening and closing the sleeve to awaken the kindle. It also means the case has to be opened whenever the kindle is being charged or content is being transferred from the PC. It does protect well from water and scratches but the design needs some more work.
