I'm very pleased with this case/holster combo.

I upgraded from a Blackberry Bold to the iPhone 4 and was looking for a comparable holster to my standard leather Blackberry holster. I wanted it to be vertical in orientation, easy to pull out and holster with one hand, good-looking, and with a heavy-duty, plastic rotating clip. This fits those requirements nearly perfectly.

Fit: The iPhone 4 fits in the case snugly. The case holds the phone in place with friction. It is possible for the phone to slip slightly--but only if pressure is put on the phone from the bottom--like when I plug in the power cord in the bottom. That said, it fits so snugly that I can turn the phone upside down (holding the case) and shake it with no slipping of the phone.

Also, all the cutouts are perfectly placed to enable the user to access all the buttons and plug in headphones into the jack while holstered. Fit and finish are impeccable.

Protection: This thing is very heavy-duty--having the look of holsters that are commonly used by police for their various equipment on their belts. It has the appearance of heavy leather, although it must be some sort of synthetic "carbon fiber" as advertised. I have confidence that the phone will be protected well if I drop it and it hits the ground on the bottom of the case--because that sort of strike will force the phone deeper into the holster. However, if it hits the ground on the top of the case, that force will surely slip the phone out of the case where it may damage the top of the phone. That said, the case is designed to extend slightly beyond the phone's top corners--thus protecting it in normal use.

Looks: This case/holster combo makes the slim, delicate-looking iPhone 4 look much beefier--and it makes the phone feel much sturdier in my hand. I don't particularly like the delicate-looking aspect of the phone and this case fixes that issue for me. It also gives the phone some grip, some friction on slippery surfaces, and thick protection from bumps.

The only con that I can see is that the phone isn't quite as easy to holster with one hand as my previous Blackberry holster--yet I can still do it--it just occasionally requires a glance down to see where the top of the holster is.

I highly recommend this excellent, high-quality product.

Great looking but the phone slides into the case and easily slides out. Same is true of the belt clip holster. The phone slides out of the holster and the belt clip snaps out of the holster. I dropped my phone due to this defective design 4 times in 2 days. I am in the process of returning the item.

I had two. Both broke! Case-mate would not replace/support their terrible quality for this beautiful yet expensive product! Don't buy one! It will break...guaranteed!

First of all it only took 3 days to get here and arrived in new condition. I have read reviews on alot of websites and purchased this hopping it will be what I wanted. I think I know why some people had a hard time getting the phone out of the holster. The face goes in toward the holder to protect the face. I myself have smashed the face on my home phone hanging on my pocket. It fits perfect and has the right tension to pull it out. If I were to go jogging I would put it in my pocket. Hope it lasts a long time.

First of all, the case looks great! The black carbon fiber texture gives it a nice look. Everyone always comments on how nice the case looks. Now for the two discrepancies that I have found on the product. First, the iphone doesn't lock into place in the holster. If you jump up and down or run with it, it will slide up and fall to the ground. It happened to me 3 times already! Ok, so the case isn't designed as a workout case, but what if, for example, you're about to get mugged and you need to run or what not? The phone with the sleeve will slide out of the holster and fall. So this isn't good. However, with the other texture (plain leather) it will at least hold a lot better than the carbon fiber material. With the plain leather model the leather "sticks" to the leather on the holster thus making it a lot more secure. The carbon fiber looks awesome, but it does not "stick." Lastly, I just noticed the carbon fiber material on the sleeve is coming loose, and it's not because I've dropped the phone those 3 times I mentioned above. It simply looks like a workmanship problem. I'm hoping Case-Mate will send me a new one for this discrepancy. We'll see what type of customer service they have. Hope this helps!

Good quick sale. Item as described. Just what I wanted as AT&T doesn't sell it anymore. What's up with that?

This is a good case and holster combo for those who like a iPhone on their belt. It stays in place and easy to pull out to answer the phone when it rings.

I didn't do a lot of looking before I bought this, but maybe I should have.

Within a few days, the sides of the case had split open, just a little bit. It was enough that the phone started sliding out of the case. I had to use a little double-sided tape on the back of the phone to keep it in the case.

The sides of the front are quite thick. They come around the edge of the phone enough that it's hard to touch letters near the edge, or move icons to the next page when organizing.

The holster, on the other hand is terrific. It holds onto the case very well, but it's still easy to remove the case to use the phone.

Bought this for my (obviously) Iphone back in December. The belt clip bottom part of the holster bent and was no longer able to support the phone from the bottom. While the sides do grip it I did not want to risk dropping my phone. the case for it from having to take it out to connect to an FM transmitter (has only enough room for the standard charger; no accessories like a transmitter or external bat.
