this novel was written by the author when he was 65 years of age retired from film making and resumed his writing career. It begins on a luxury liner leaving New York heading for Germany in 1939 German spies were heading to Report to Adolph Hitler about conditions in the U.S.A. among them is A black spy named Heinrich Schultz who was to report the situation among Black Americans in Harlem and all over U.S.A. He was educated in Germany and later with his sister Bertha Schultz who also was educated in Germany returned to Harlem where they spied during the war[ww2]. Bertha Schultz met and fell in loved with Sidney Wyeth a retired afro american Filmmaker and was rescued from spying for germany and assinating Eleanor Roosevelt whn she visited Harlem,they married. Heinrich shultz was aiding the destruction of American ships while using the front of a negro news reporter for a Harlem Newspaper,passing information to his cohorts in milwaukee,chicago,philadelphia,and New York. The F.B.I. traced spying from Harlem and commisioned A Black Detective named Walter Lebaron track him down. The F.B.I. was able to catch VonBarwig,VonRibentoff.and others. Heinrich used his Blackness to aid his escape from U.S.A. and anonymity as an advantage when he escaped to The West Indies and was about to flee to Germany when he was stalked and caught by Walter Lebaron who caught him and brought him back to U.S.A. Where he and his group were held until after the war and then sent back to Germany where they were all sentenced and held for life or executed in context with their crimes. The real situation described was not Blacks involved in Naziism because Hitler despised blacks. But it was more symbolic of the rise of communism in the U.S.A. and that it had spread among afro-americans in Harlem and other parts of U.S.A. The Communist Party in U.S.A. during 1930s-1940s were very instrumental in undermining Oscar Micheaux movie efforts. Oscar Micheaux was more direct in his attacks on Communism in his next Novel where Detective Walter Lebaron was one of the Major Characters.
