5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious! I couldn't put it down.
Mabel Maney is a legend! All the Nancy Clue mysterious are so enjoyable to read and are all so camp. All my friends keep borrowing my books now. It's really annoying because I want to re-read and re-read.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Lite Read
If you're the type who typically knocks out a novel in a night or two then you'll probably enjoy this book. It's too silly to plod through if it generally takes you more time than that to get through a story though. I personally felt that the book would have been a lot better if the author had only alluded to the characters' sexuality by using inuendo and symbolism...

4.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, fun read, March 29, 1999

I loved Nancy Drew mysteries as a kid because they were about girls getting out and doing it for themselves (and, come on, her best chum is a tomboy named George!). Now thanks to Mabel Maney, I can get the same effortless pleasure out of these girl mysteries for an enlightened age. The only flaw is the ending -- I won't spoil it for you but it throws kind of a heavy-handed PC note into an otherwise light 'n frothy adventure. Still, this is a great read, and if it gets you thinking, that's a plus. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh Until You're Gay, December 10, 2006

Valley Gay Press Book Reviewer: Liz Bradbury
Here's what it would have been like if Carolyn Keene had written Nancy Drew stories set in a 1950's gay and lesbian world, where the all the unattractive people were far right heterosexual bigots and all the heroes were GLBT. Read this series of three hilarious books that match nurse Cherry Aimless with Nancy Clue, discovering mysteries in caves, convents and under the sheets, when you need to escape. The Hardy boys even make a flaming appearance in the third book. Funny, even if you haven't read the old series, but best if you have.

I LOVED the adventures of Nancy Clue and Cherry Aimless.

"Three martinis aren't nearly nutritious enough for a girl on the go!"

5.0 out of 5 stars She could make me a stalker!, June 6, 1999
I read this book a few years ago after seeing an article about Maney in the SF Bay Times. I thought she was kinda cute so I bought her book. I read a few Nancy Drew mysteries in my younger days, but nothing as interesting as this! Very funny and clever.

If you were at all a fan of the Nancy Drew series, you will absolutely love this book! Mabel Maney has done the work, and what that work yields is a truly hilarious romp and satire of the Nancy Drew books with an awesome Lesbian twist! Do yourself a favor and read these books. Highly recommended. I got these from my local library, but worth buying to add to your collection.

Light-weight, no-thought-required fun. A better read than the Case of the Good-for-Nothing Girlfriend.

This is one of the funniest works of lesbian fiction I have ever read. I could not stop laughing. I've loaned it to friends and given it as a gift. Not only is the content hysterical, the style is hilarious as well.

This is a hilarious take off of the Nancy Drew mysteries. Mabel Maney brings Nancy and Cherry to life in the 90's. It's a must read for any one who loves mysteries and is openminded.
