A Funny book for people of all ages.,
By Kyle Bergner (Manitowoc, Wisconsin, U.S.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case of the One-Eyed Killer Stud Horse #8 (Hank the Cowdog) (Paperback)
A sick dog, A broken ankle, and a dog that was attacked and almost killed, believe or not these are the main events of one of the funniest books ever written. There is a dog named Hank he is head of ranch security at a ranch. He always does dumb things that get him hurt or in trouble with his owner. One of the things he does is eat bacon grease and becomes very sick. But when he tries to do something nice it always seems to backfire and he ends up getting in trouble. If you own a dog it really makes you think how you treat your dog and if you ever talk to your dog. IF you are an adult looking for a fast read or a kid looking to have fun I guarantee you will laugh with this book.

I almost peed my pants,
By Averil (Wisconsin) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case of the One-Eyed Killer Stud Horse (Hank the Cowdog 8) (School & Library Binding)
This book was hilarious, as all Hank books are! The best part is the sleep talking scene--"foggy doggy mumbo jumbo". This book was also incredibly dumb but so funny I almost peed my pants. Read this book if you want something light and funny.

This review is from: The Case of the One-Eyed Killer Stud Horse #8 (Hank the Cowdog) (Paperback)
This book isn't as good as the first, but it is stell good. The book isn't only about a horse geting away. It is also about poisened bacon grease. The book isn't a horse book as much as you might think. A good chapter was: TOP SECRET MATERIAL!!!! One thing I didn't like the songs that they had. It wasn't like they had bad words, it just is I don't like long songs in books.

This review is from: The Case of the One-Eyed Killer Stud Horse #8 (Hank the Cowdog) (Paperback)
Hank must defend the ranchagainst Tuerto, the one-eyed killer stud horse from the ranch next door. I love the part where Hank throws up on Sally Mae's shoe, just as Sally Mae is preparing for a visit from her mother-in-law. My favorite Hank-the-Cowdog. (Don't have a favorite Hank? Get this one. Try it on CD. Fabulous for kids or grownups.)

One of the Finest Hank Stories,
By Ruthie McBride "Ruthie" (Greenwood, IN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case of the One-Eyed Killer Stud Horse (Hank the Cowdog) (Audio CD)
The Hank the Cowdog series is --hands down-- one of the funniest, entertaining audio books you will ever listen to with your family. We love them (and have for 18 years now) for vacation drives, day trips, or even listening while running errands. The One-Eyed Killer Stud Horse is one of our favorites, it's soooooo hilarious! I believe the earliest books in the series are the best and this one will not disappoint.

I love all the Hank books, and this is a great one for the Christmas season. These books are hilarious and more important to the young reader, fun to read. I'd also check the rest of the series.Author of "Hobo Finds A Home" editor "Of A Predatory Heart"

A classic Hank story,
This review is from: The Case of the One-Eyed Killer Stud Horse (Hank the Cowdog) (Audio CD)
This is one of my favorite Hank stories. It has adventure, romance, and a daring rescue. We have listened to the audio version at least 3 times and it never gets old. If you are a Hank fan already then you'll love this one. If you've never heard the author read Hank books aloud - this would be a great one to start with.

My Book Report. by: Clara Makela,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Case of the One-Eyed Killer Stud Horse #8 (Hank the Cowdog) (Hardcover)
Hank the cow dog is a hero. He helps people every single day! He is not any ordinary dog, let me tell you! Hank lived on a peaceful farm with an annoying cat Harry, and a nice dog friend Dover; Hank lives with his owner too!Hank has a problem. There is a horse that will kill or give you a serious injury that lives near the farm! Nobody, I mean nobody, have broken that horse! Dover always shakes whenever he sees Turuto. Hank needs to take care of this problem and fast! Dover is in training, Hank is supposed to teach him. During training they hear foot steps out on the farming land so Hank scurries to the farming land and finds Turuto out there waiting for something or someone? Turuto was waiting for him! Hank and Dover try to attack but it didn't work, they hurried like a cheetah flying through the air; Turuto still chasing quickly from behind. Hank and Dover tricked Turuto by turning the corner and running under their owner's car. "That was close!" Drover said while breathing hard. "Drover, that was really, close." Hank replied. The next day all the animals in the barn had to have a bath because their owner's mother would be coming! If you get dirty trust me you do not want to know what happens. "Can you smell that Hank? Oh wait you live outside the barn so you can't smell about anything!" Harry the cat said. Once the breakfast was done the owner brought it outside and gave all the breakfast leftovers to Harry, which was burnt toast and bacon grease. Hank's owner went back inside to take a bath and curl her hair His owner had to come back outside when she was is in her robe and curlers because her son had been playing in the mud she sent him back inside then she noticed Hank was dirty because of drinking that horrible tasting, smelly, bacon grease.... She was mad, stopping across the yard with HUGE steps! She tripped over the wood; she fell when her ankle got caught in the wire. She started choking me; shaking me like I was a bobble head that did not work. Her mother, who pulled up when she was shaking me, in shock and disgrace, took her daughter inside once she left I saw two girls come out of the car. One of the girls was Alice, the other was Mary. One of them was holding makeup and the other one was holding hair curlers clothes and other girly things. "NO!!!" and the next thing I know I'm in a dress wearing lipstick and blush, "ha-ha" laughed Harry. "Be quiet, Harry. I'm not the one that gets wet every time that boy comes outside." When I turned around I saw Turuto he was going after the girls! "Dover! Dover!" WHAT!" Dover cried annoyed "Turuto is going after the girls!!" Drover and I hurried over to the girls. Hank got in front of Turuto and looked into his one eye. Dover was so scared he ran back to the barn with the girls. I jumped on Turuto's neck, he jumped up in the air and slammed me down, I got back up to bite his stomach, then he was down, but it was not over. Turuto got back up and hit me with his hoof! I got back up slowly and weakly; I heard a cheer "GO HANK!" Mary shouted. I got back up and did my toughest move the claw bite and I got on the neck. He was weak now and he ran off but he wasn't as weak as me I fell down, Alice, Mary, and Sally May, my owners wife. Sally May said," Hank you are crazy, that's why I like you." "Can we keep him?" Mary said anxiously "Sure...Why not."
