5.0 out of 5 stars Another great read and a keeper!
Melanie Schuster strikes gold again in "A case for romance" the story of playboy Johnny and responsible "good girl" Ayanna. Like all of Ms. Schuster's books, the characters are well developed and compelling. Johnny is the perfect mix of "man's man" and humorous, romantic leading man. I am a huge fan of Melanie Schuster who always delivers although I didn't think it was on the level that I'm used to from her. I enjoyed the book but it was one I will read over and over again like her other book.

Ayanna has made many sacrifices in order to raise her nephews whose mother was killed when they were very young, however, those sacrifices for Ayanna would have not been traded. She loves raising her nephews, but her love life has suffered. Now looking around her and seeing her closest friends engaged in loving relationships, she can't help but want the same for herself. And in walks sexy player, Johnny.

Johnny is an attorney who has finally decided to settle in Chicago after traveling so much for his position. However, meeting Ayanna again, he finds himself glad to have decided to put down roots because Ayanna is just what his heart needs. What started off as casual conversations, Ayanna and Johnny engage in a full force love affair. With the boys in South Carolina with their grandmother, Johnny and Ayanna get to know each other on a more sensual level. Nevertheless, Ayanna goes into the relationship as a summer fling only to realize too late, Johnny was playing for keeps. When a tragedy occurs, the two must lean on each other for support and hopefully find their way back to love and romance.

Schuster has written a sensual tale of love that goes awry when miscommunication about what one wants out of a relationship occurs. The characters are well-developed and the romance is tender and believable. Of course, the erotic love scenes are great as well. A CASE FOR ROMANCE is a well-written story that will conquer the hardest of hearts and melt those of us who are true romantics at heart.

Johnny has been a playa' for a while, but once he meets Melanie he knows that his womanizing ways were only temporary. Meanwhile, Ayanna is both amazingly strong in life and undoubtedly naive and a bit secure when it comes to love. The interaction between Johnny and Ayanna is wonderful, realistic and makes a great story.

I usually read and resell or give away books, but some of the dialogue in this book is just too good. A very strong, long-term fan of Ms. Schuster's writing - "A Case for Romance" is a keeper and once again I'm left waiting impatiently for Melanie Schuster's next tale.

I read Model Perfect Passion and enjoyed that book, but I really loved this story between Ayanna and Johnny. This entire family is simply fantastic I hope Ms Schuster will continue the series and bring us more from this family. I did have one question if Ayanna has never been married and her mother's last name is Porter why is her last name Walker?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Love Story, January 12, 2009

Johnny has never had a real relationship with a woman, but he wants one with Ayanna. Ayanna is a single mother of two teenage boys and can't believe that Johnny is interested in more than an affair. They embark upon a steamy romance. Johnny knows Ayanna is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with. His feelings get hurt when he thinks that Ayanna is only interested in him for sex. Johnny leaves to lick his wounds, but a crisis brings them back together again. I love this story as always, Ms. Schuster has created unforgettable characters that we want to find out more about.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Case of Romance, December 31, 2008
This review is from: A Case For Romance (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I love a man who knows what he want and go after it, and speaks his mind and you get that with Johnny Phillips. Those Phillips are back and let me tell that Johnny knows how to love his woman.

Alanna Walker is a hard working mother who has put falling in love on the back burner until Johnny Phillips. Ayanna works for Hunter Construction and is very close to the Phillips family who think of her and her sons as family.

Johnny is considera player but like all player once they met that special woman all of there playing days are over, and for Johnny he was ready. Johnny first met Ayanna at his sister Billie wedding and at the time he thought she was married with 2 sons. They met back up at Johnny sister house warming and once he found out that Ayanna was not married and wasn't sees anybody it was on. From that moment on Johnny had decided he would show Ayanna how to have fun and make her toes curls. Ladies and he does just that from the beginning he told Ayanna that he wanted to be her man and he show her his desires, his devotion and his love.

Ayanna felt so special with Johnny and we as reader get to see her have some fun and to know what it feel like to fall in love. Ayanna also have issue with herself where she doesn't think she is the kind of woman Johnny would normally fall in love but with the help of her mother and Billie she sees the error of her ways.

I tell this book is great and I had read it twice already. Melanie has pen herself another great book and I truly recommend reading this book you will not be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Very Well Written Book!, May 7, 2009
This review is from: A Case For Romance (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Ayanna Walker had her life put on hold when she adopted her sister's two sons several years ago. To Ayanna, there was nothing to think about. She would raise the boys, putting their needs first, and worrying about herself later. Johnny Phillips, her best friends brother, wants Ayanna to have a life for herself as well. Johnny is always traveling and has not shown any interest in settling down. So when he starts to insinuate himself into her and her boys life, Ayanna thinks that a summer fling is all he wants. When Johnny's true feelings are revealed and Ayanna's insecurities come out, it takes a tragic event to bring them to their senses.

A Case for Romance is a very well written book by Melanie Schuster. It's a story that deals with real life, everyday issues. The characters are very believable and relatable. Schuster does a really good job of writing a good romance story that the average person can be connected to.
