Stand aside MacGyver!, April 28, 2003

This review is from: The Case of the Silver Egg (Hardcover)
Written the same year I was born, from the notes scribbled in the back of the book I discovered that the last time I read it I was 9 years old. Good, solid, action/adventure book for children aged 8-10 years, probably more suitable for boys. Story includes car chases, bad guys, incompetent security men, science breakthroughs (the silver egg) and Mini Minor Morris; a small boy whose planning and leadership skills and knowledge of science ensures that he can solve most of life's little problems like how to enter a government laboratory via a second floor window using a trampoline - all good stuff! I am not sure whether the author ever wrote any other childrens books (which is a great pity), although I believe there was a TV series based upon the characters in this one. Highly recommended.
