This book is very helpful for students to put together the concepts of patho with the clinical setting.

At first I thought I wouldn't be able to use the book because the online code was not available, but after talking to my professor I can use it without the code.
Shirley Reel
I thought these case studies were very helpful in understanding not only certain disease processes but how one system effects every other system in the body!

I bought the book as requested by the instructor. The book itself is good. But there are no answers for the questions in the book because it is a book for instructors' use. For me, my instructor only used a few cases in the book (less than 10) and I won't get the answers for the remaining cases. It is true that the CD is very helpful. But as a student, I want to use the whole book and study all the cases since I paid for the entire book.

This case studies book is an excellent supplement to basic pathophysiology textbooks for learning the subject of pathophysiology. The book is not intended to stand alone unless the student has some background in pathophysiology, but used while taking a pathophysiology course, it has significant merit. It helped me to understand, from a basic science perspective, why sick patients develop the symptoms that they do when they have particular diseases. I found the case studies on heart failure, breast cancer, lung cancer and diabetes especially helpful as I have family members with this disease. The book really helped me to connect the dots between basic science and the clinical manifestations of disease. I found the CD very helpful in helping me to understand the pathophysiology of disease. I highly recommend this case studies book for anyone who is currently enrolled in a pathophysiology or pathology course or just wants to review pathophysiology.

I just started teaching a Pathophysiology course & was looking for case studies for the students. These case studies are current, concise, & reasonable for the students; each one provides enough information to get them started without 'leading' the student. I watch the students as their critical thinking skills start to spark...You know, the 'Ahhh, now I get it!" expression that comes over their faces. Well worth the investment. Thanks~~~

I had to purchase this for my Advanced Pathophysiology class in my Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. It is very easy to understand and have pretty good case studies. I like that the CD that accompanies the book goes into some detail in explaining the cases further and the disease processes without giving you the answers to the questions. It stimulates one to think!! Once this class is over I will go back from time to time to review!!

I received the textbook, with cd intact, only to find that when I went to do my assigned case study for a Pathophysiology class, the entire case study had been ripped from the book. The assignment was due, so there was no way to return the book and get another. I borrowed from a classmate, which was no easy feat, since it's an online class. Very disappointed (and stressed) regarding this book.

This is a nice compliment to other classroom instruction materials. I am teaching an advanced pathophysiology course in a nurse practitioner program. This book is very helpful for students to put together the concepts of patho with the clinical setting. Will use these for in-class group assignments. Case-studies are thorough and offer a variety of different disease processes to choose from. It certainly does not offer a case study for every possible disease or clinical scenario, but does cover most major areas and enough variety in my opinion. Should be helpful in reinforcing the clinical significance of some difficult to understand concepts. I would recommend this text to course instructors.

I like the format and how they incorporate question and real life type questions, makes you critically think. Despite it be a required textbook for school, I would still recommend getting it.
