Our book club LOVES her books!!,
By Shelby (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case of the Terrible Teacher (Paperback)
Our book club kept hearing about Rae Lowery and how fantastic her books were, but we had a tough time finding them. Finally, we found the first two books (The Case of the Pack-Rat Park, and The Case of the Lost Kid) on BarnesandNoble.com, and the third one here on Amazon.com. It was well worth the search. She writes books for kids, so initially we bought them for our children, but they kept laughing out loud while they read, so after they went to bed I started reading it, and absolutely COULD NOT put it down until I was done. Of course, that made me run out and buy the other two books and they were just as fantastic.
The main character is an 11 year old girl who is sort of the neighborhood detective, and she solves problems for her friends. But she has footnotes to define words and complex thoughts that are just hysterical. It's suspenseful, witty, and a very fast, fun read. I can't recommend them highly enough, and I can't wait for the next book in the series! |
