F.Y.I. Happily Ever After is on Cases other cd "Personal Conversation" not on this one! This is his first cd! Everybody is hollerin about "happily ever after this...... happily ever after that" and ya'll ain't even talkin about the right cd. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitter or anything about the whole matter, to be honest I don't really give a damn! I'm just letting you know so that you don't go get the wrong cd! Peace and love!

I only wish R&B in 2009 could still sound like this....wishful thinking huh? Released in 1996 this album is known for the banger "Touch Me Tease Me" with Foxy Brown and that is a solid start but this album has MUCH more than just that, the whole entire thing is just BANANAS..top to bottom...Case who is out of Mt.Vernon,NY just drops some good ol soul music on you here...While I will admit that he's not the greatest singer he more than holds his own over a mixture of hip-hop and soulful, slow jam beats, during this time he was dating Mary J.Bige and you can feel her influence on the album in certain spots, she does sing some back-up for him on a few as well,it was produced mainly by Kenny "Smoove" Kornegay
If you miss the way R&B used to sound and I don't mean this Chris Brown/T-Pain stuff then you need to pick this one up! My top five here are: Rain Crazy Don't Be Afraid Touch Me Tease Me I Gotcha

case really puts it down with this cd, his debut back in the '96. there are a couple funky songs but primarily it's a slow tempo album. "more to love" starts the album out with a cool guitar riff and a soulstress crooning the chorus. then, the album takes a turn for the smooth side of r&b. "don't be afraid" has a constant bass guitar string being played - very catchy. then, "i gotcha" has more bass sound to it that sounds like it could be something off of "ready to die" by the infamous biggie smalls. (sounds a little like "machine gun funk"). next comes the interlude to the song "rain". it's very soothing; it has a new age sound to it, very naturery (just a thought) and the track to follow (appropriately titled "rain")is a relaxing cut. and to close off this album, what better way to do it then the standout "touch me tease me" featuring the hottest female lyricist, fox boogie brown baby! this is a hot one even though it's dated (8yrs) this is a keeper.

There are some great tracks on this CD. Of course Happily Ever After and Faded Pictures. My sleeper pick is IF. This CD is definitely worth buying if you like New Jack R&B and Soul.
