My original Kindle fell victim to a fall while housed in the cover it came with as well as being in a tote bag. I was very sad.
So when I purchased my Kindle 2... I looked for the most protective cover I could find. This is awesome!!! It's very well padded, and I love the extra outer compartment for the power cord & ear buds. Being a little overly protective, I also purchase a SILICONE GEL SKIN for my Kindle 2. [...] I put it in the gel skin first, then put it in the outer cover. There's no slipping for the Kindle now. Can you tell I'm not loosing another Kindle to a fall? Best wishes for keeping your Kindle safe!

This is the PERFECT Kindle 2 case. The large zippered section holds your Kindle securely, and the dual zippers allow you to charge it while in the case.
The outer pocket is large enough to hold a booklight, spare batteries, the Kindle charger, and earbuds. Highly recommended!

I love this case for my Kindle2. It is small, yet padded enough to keep it safe for travel. The outside pouch is perfect for the power cable or if going on short trip, leave the cable home and stash my keys there. Have a little concern about how loose the device is in the corner straps, but so far it has not fell out, so I guess my concerns are unfounded.

This is the second Kindle 2 case I've purchased. Don't get me wrong; I love my first one, too, which is a yellow M-Edge case that fits the Kindle like a glove. Fits like a glove so well, that I wanted something a little roomier as well, so that I could put my charger, maybe reading glasses, my warranty, any number of things, that wouldn't fit in the "fits like a glove" case. Hence this purchase.
It took a little longer to arrive than I'm used to, especially considering the fact that it only had to travel, at most, 40 miles to get here. Took a solid 5 days, but I must say, as of right now, having used it for most of Saturday, it was worth the wait. Not only does my Kindle 2 fit in the case, but so do my glasses, my charger, and my warranty. The small zippered compartment has a nice soft inner lining so as not to scratch your glasses; the charger fits neatly, and doesn't create the "bulk" that the M-Edge creates. My only "con" to this case, and it's a small one that I'm still grappling with, is that the large Kindle compartment has corner straps that fit around the 4 Kindle "corners," which is very, very convenient; however, the top ones are clear plastic, not "stretchy elastic" like the bottom black ones (see photo). The top left clear plastic "corner" covers the Kindle's on/off "slider" almost completely, so that when in sleep mode, in order to wake your Kindle up, or turn it back on, whichever function you're doing, you have to move the Kindle to the right in order to move your slider button. I believe over time this could weaken and/or break that plastic left "corner." If you slide your Kindle out at the top to move your slider button, because the top corners aren't the stretchy elastic like the bottom ones, you have to completely remove your Kindle for a total repositioning. Perhaps someone else has this same case and can offer up a much easier and efficient way to move the on/off slider? The case is a nice, sturdy, heavy plastic/vinyl, which is very, very easy to wipe and keep clean. My yellow M-Edge is easy to clean as well, but because it's made of a suede-like material, you're more prone to worrying about spots, staining and possibly smearing. This International case can be wiped clean with anything wet, whether you're using a wet paper towel, or a Clorox disinfectant wipe (or similar "wet one") and you needn't worry about any smears, stains, etc. I do wish it had been a little less expensive, but it seems that many of the Kindle accessories are pricey, and when you're a Christmas newbie, it seems you have to buy absolutely everything Kindle. I would have liked to have seen this in the $15 to $20 range, instead of the almost $30 I paid for it ($28.49). At the end of the day, it's a great case and it never hurts to have more than one to use. Thank you for reading my review.

I am so pleased at the quality, and value of this item. It is stylish, protects my kindle without being bulky or cumbersome and has storage for my earphones or charging plug. I would highly recommend this item as a good value, for a great price.

Great case, great price (a couple dollars more with "fullfillment" through Amazon, but if you have Prime Shipping works out cheaper and faster). I started with the original Kindle 2 Amazon cover with the hinges but wanted something that zipped & had room for the charger. This is a great solution...my Kindle cover fits right in under the 2 right elastics, the elastics are then not on the Kindle at all so not in the way, and I have no slippage issues. Plus there's the extra protective surface between my Kindle viewing area and the storage pouch. I find myself reading right in the case as it folds back pretty well. Case zips with only a little care around the Kindle cover without stressing the zipper.

I've had an assortment of Kindle covers (K1, K2 and Dx), and this is by far the most disappointing. It might be fine for simple storage, but I feel it does not provide adequate protection for when I am on the go. Reading the Kindle while it is in the case is not an option for me, either. The back button is covered by one of the corner straps, and the case is just too bulky. Honestly, I will never use this case. I would return it were I not so lazy (standing in line at the local NYC post office is not a good use of my time).

NOTE: I knew this case was "fitted" for Kindle 2 when I bought it for my Kindle 3 (latest gen). I did it on purpose, because this case is my favorite style AND the only one with an adequate pouch to hold accessories.
UPDATE: I've found a hard clear case that has a stand to FIT the Kindle 3. This case holds it ALL, including my Kandle (light), car charger, kindle stand hard case, ear-buds, ear-plugs and eyeglasses (folded type), plus cell phone. I cannot recommend this more highly if you want a BED/HOUSE carry case for your Kindle 3, that holds anything you could add for the slimer model Kindle 3. As I mentioned earlier, I knew this one was FITTED for Kindle 2 when I bought it for the Kindle 3 - and if you want a case that does it all, this is really it. Highly recommend. I intended to purchase a silicone sleeve/cover with a light or a stand, fitted for Kindle 3 (when they become more available), and wanted something that would hold it WITH the new fitted multi-functional piece. This is it!!! Currently I am using it to keep my kindle protected when I put it away, to carry it with me - and bring any accessories I want in that wonderful outside pouch. It holds car charger, my cell phone, USB cable and I have room for a bendable light or keys, etc. Fantastic. There is enough room inside where the Kindle lays (and it's nicely padded for protection when traveling), for almost any "fitted" Kindle 3 sleeve I will buy. Am still waiting for the hard-shell clear plastic case with stand OR the silicone fitted with back lights that fold up - when they make those for the Kindle 3, I will have the absolute perfect set up for traveling, protection, and multi-function accessories! Seller delivered very fast, and product is as described. Highly recommend, but be sure you know this model is not "fitted" for the kindle 3.

This is a quality product that protects your investment in your kindle! I'm going to order another one for a gift. It's durable, nice to look at and the zippers are great strength for multiple openings. I bought this with the front pocket so I wouldn't forget my plug and its also large enough to hold my ipod and it's cords and earpieces!
Keep up the quality, I'll be back for another one. I also purchased the light so I can read on the plane w/out disturbing others and in bed. Everything fits nicely in this case.

Nice case for my Kindle.,

I ordered this for my new Kindle, because I wanted the protection the memory foam padding would offer. The case is great for the Kindle- the elastic holds it securely and the cover easily folds back so I can leave the Kindle in it to read if I want. It is also easy to remove the Kindle if I want to read it 'naked.' The pocket in front is big enough for the power cord and a book light.
Cons- the cover color and design are not particularly attractive. Not bad enough for me to return the case, but I wish it came in other options. Also, the case itself does stink. I think that the smell is caused by the memory foam and I am sure it will dissipate over time. |
