I was strapped for cash after shelling out $699 for a 64 GB wifi Ipad, so I needed a case for not a lot of money. I also wanted a professional looking case I could use at work.

I stumbled upon this case browsing through Amazon, and I figured for around $20, even if I hated it I wouldn't be out a lot of money.

I ended up ordering direct from CaseCrown. It was shipped quickly and for free. The material has a leather appearance,and fits the iPad snugly. All of the controls are visible, but it does seem that the light sensor is covered up, so the Auto backlighting feature won't work, but then it never seemed like it worked that great anyway.

There is a slight odor to the case upon opening it, as with most synthetic leathers, but I imagine it will fade in a day or as such odors usually do. The case appears to be constructed using stitching rather than glue, so hopefully this means it will last a while.

I like how the top folds back so I can use the iPad like a notepad. The cover flap is reinforced with a rigid material (probably some type of cardboard) and has a suede-like material covering the inside. There is a piece attached to the flap that can store business cards, id cards, etc, but more importantly allows you to slide your hand under it to have a secure hold on the case and your iPad. Nice touch.

I'm sure a Vaja or Piel Frama or Oberon leather case is nicer, but they are also 5 times the price of this case. I've owned all three brands for other devices, and honestly there is not much different functionally between them and this case.

There are build quality issues with the case. The iPad's top edge is always hidden under the case. The front of the case is never square on the iPad , no matter how much you try to push or pull.
If I had no problem with the build quality, the only concern that I would have had is that the case does not have a hole for the light sensor which I guess can be solved by punching a hole and also the latch is magnetic which makes the built in compass in iPad go crazy.

This product is ok but I wish I would have known that this product does not allow the ipad to be propped up on its own. The picture shows the case allowing the ipad to free stand but it does not.
