Product Description

Size: iPad 2 / iPad 3 / iPad 4th Gen | Color: Purple

Protect your iPad with this CaseCrown Omni Cover Case at all times. The Omni Cover Case sports a simple and classy design. The back shell is made from durable polycarbonate material so you do not need to worry about any damages. It offers an easy clip-on application. There is also a magnetic cover attached for a secure closure. It has the similar sleep / wake feature like the Apple Smart Cover making your iPad go to sleep once you close it, and instantly waking it up when you open it ready for use. Because the cover is uniquely designed to flip back and transform the case into a comfortable viewing stand that offers two different viewing angles, this capability allows the viewer to use the iPad hands-free whatever your position may be without strain whether it is being used for viewing or for a keypad. All features of the iPad are accessible even with the case on. It even includes a camera hole so you can take pictures and videos without removing it. Watch movies and listen to music clearly with speaker holes! This one piece case will fit your iPad like a glove. The ultra slim and compact structure of the case offers convenient mobility so you can just grab your iPad and be ready to go knowing it will be protected at all times!

I've had just about every model of iPad since they were released and it feels like I've had just about every case as well. For the iPad Air - this is THE case you want if your desired feature-set is similar to mine. Please note - I AM NOT looking for significant protection from drops and falls. This is a very thin case and will not protect the screen from hammers, concrete floors or a member of the disenfranchised masses looking to take out his aggression on the 1%.

What I wanted:
* Thin - The iPad is a thin and light device. That shouldn't change just because you put a case on it.
* Stays closed - I can't tell you how many times a cheap case will come open just slightly in my bag thereby draining my battery.
* Is sturdy in standing position - the trick here is for the case to have 4 panels instead of 3.
* Attractive - Since case-makers have decided these things should cost $20-$70 could they at least make them look worth it?

This case delivers on all fronts. A+
You might want to also check out the case reviews on TheWirecutter.com - this won but they have lots of details about others as well.

I like the CaseCrown Omni Case. I particularly like that it protects both the back and front screen, unlike Apple's more expensive cover. The problem here is that adds back the weight that Apple was able to remove from the iPad. My two reasons for upgrading from an iPad 2 to an Air was to save the 1/2 pound of weight. This put most of it right back on.

The case is a very snug fit which makes removing it a bit tough. That means that if your only thinking of using it some of the time, say for travel, you'll need to be able to remove it easily, and that may prove a problem with this case.

As for protection, I still wouldn't say that the case would protect the iPad if it were dropped, but it will clearly protect the back from scratches and help to keep the screen a bit cleaner. The folding cover is very nice to use as a stand when I'm at a table or on a plane, watching a movie.

All-in-all, a very nice case that will add protection to your iPad Air, but will also add weight and bulk. In addition, it's not that easy to remove once it's been "installed."

I read about this case on iLounge, where it received an "A-" rating for the iPad Air version. It would have been rated higher, had the reviewer not paid full price. This is the first CaseCrown case I've owned, so my comments are specific to the iPad Air. I don't remove my iPad from the Omni, in part because I don't need to, and because I'm likely to drop the iPad because it is so slick to the touch.

The shell protecting the rear of the case is very solid and well designed. The cutouts provide good protection for the iPad's speaker, ports and buttons. It manages to do so without being unnecessarily bulky or heavy, which cannot be said of other cases. The front cover, while thin, retains the 4-fold design of previous Apple iPad cases. This provides for good stability when in a standing position, which is how I use my iPad much of the time. The faux carbon fiber is a nice, complimentary design to the "Space Gray" color, and provides adequate protection for the iPad.

I do have one concern about the case, which is that the plastic that connects the cover to the rear protective shell is quite thin and could be a problematic over time from repeated use. I haven't had any problem with it yet, nor would I expect to after only 2 months of use. Nevertheless, it bears watching, but isn't serious enough to warrant a negative review.

Some reviews have commented that this case wouldn't protect the iPad in the event of it being dropped. My response is that apart from a few military-grade cases, none will. I keep my iPad in a padded sleeve case from Roots when travelling, which in turn is inside of a thick leather bag. If you're really concerned about protection, my approach has been useful more than once at airports, etc.

With all the amazing reviews it received on Amazon, I figured this must be a great case for my new iPad air. Imagine my surprise when I opened the package and the first thing that came to mind is "This looks like it's made of cheap plastic." My second thought was about the way the front was off-center by just enough for it to be annoying. The fold areas on the top cover were also rigid, whereas the accordion-type covers I had checked out at the Apple Store folded easily. Then again, they were twice the price of this case.

It wasn't until I started to get the email reminders from CaseCrown to do a review of the case on Amazon with an easy link right to the product on my "review your purchases" page that all of the five-star reviews started to make sense. (Why does Amazon give my personal buying information to the company that makes the case? It's not like I registered the product with CaseCrown.)

Now maybe I'm just unlucky and got one of the few Omni Cases that looks like it came from the $Dollar Store. And maybe the other versions besides the Carbon Fiber Black look stunning and fold easily. But this dog is going back to Amazon.

My wife has had cases for her iPad 3 and now iPad Air from another company that cost about eight dollars more and look really good. I'm not going to list those because you might think I'm a ringer for that company and I'm not. I'm an Amazon customer who values honest reviews. I wanted to like this case base on the reviews, and was flabbergasted at how different my own experience of the case was.
