I really like the molded piece that cradles the camera body and tube which can support a zoom lens (mine is the 18-105mm VR). Also good that you can unzip the left and right sides all the way down to open wide. On the not so good side, the zipper is very stiff. Lots of jerking motions to get it to unzip. Maybe a little WD-40 would help if I was keeping the case.
From video on the Caselogic website and one of the pics on Amazon I hoped my Nikon SB-26 external flash would fit in the front or back pocket, if not under the molded piece for the camera body. The flash won't fit under that molded piece. Also will not fit in the pocket that has the overhanging flap. Fits SNUGGLY in the other pocket but no way to zip this pocket closed. I need a case to accommodate both my DSLR and SB-26. Unfortunately this case doesn't fit my needs so I am returning it. One other note, Amazon's description "Laptop Backpack" really is inaccurate. This is a holster-type camera bag/case.

The bag is of solid construction and the removable cradle is really nifty. I thinks it is important to mention that the upper gray area of the cradle is fairly rigid, and obviously molded for larger bodied cameras with deep grips. There is space for leaving your tripod quick release attached, however I'm not sure if there is enough room to accomodate battery grips on larger bodied camera such as the canon 5d and higher models.
I use this bag with a canon 500D and various lenses. the longest lens I have, which fits perfectly into this bag with lens hood, is the canon Macro 100mm F2.8L that measures just over 4 inches from the mount. The widest lens I have also fits very comfortable in this case, however without lens hood (the hood stores easily over the top of the bag, or below the cradle), the Tokina 11-16 F2.8, with a 77mm filter ring. Only complaint I can see people having is that the cradle itself is not heavily padded, and on smaller bodies with light lenses, will rock around a little. I found this is easily resolved by tucking the camera strap around the body before putting it in the bag making the body fit more snugly. But if you really want something heavily padded and plush for your DSLR, try the CRUMPLER 3 MILLION DOLLAR HOME BAG, which is in a similar price and size range.

Finding a simple fitted leather case for my Panasonic lumix L1 DSLR was impossible unless I ordered one for [...] bucks from Italy. I decided to try this case because of the fitted (removeable) cradle which holds the camera. I am very pleased with it. Plenty of protection and easy access with a little extra room for a few extras. In order to seat the camera better in the generic cradle, I used a razor knife to trim a little of the molded part here and there and the result is a secure cradle for my Panasonic. A plus is the long (adjustable) shoulder strap which allows the case to be swung from the rear to the front of the body to remove/replace the camera. A well-designed compact case.

This case fits our Nikon camera perfectly. It has held up for several years. It seems to be a good product.

I have been using this product for over an year.
I own a Sony A700 and this bag is little smaller for the camera body. Hence I would recommend this bag only for smaller DSLRs.

This fits my Canon d500 and Tamron 18-270 perfectly. This bag easily accomodates my oversized zoom, but I do have to remove the lens hood for easier entry/release. Pulling out the camera is at simple as a long unzip, and the camera grip is easily reached. Smooth open and the camera is instantly ready. Enough room to store a 50mm prime inside the bag beside the lens tube, and the exterior pockets carry battery and charger.
The "stealth" bag looks nothing like a camera bag, so it is easy to carry without broadcasting what you are packing. Nice long attached strap is low slung and comfortable. Perfect bag for on the go - carries just enough of what you need, but it is by no means a roomy gadget bag. Terrific holster to get camera safely to the action without attracting undue attention. |
