This review is from: Cases from the SEC Files: Topics in Auditing (Paperback)
Anyone who teaches Forensic Accounting, as I do, is ultimately forced to rely heavily on the Accounting and Auditing Enforcement releases (AAERs) issued by the SEC. This book is simply a series of summaries of the better known releases, virtually in the same words used by the Commission, i.e., there is little independent analysis, while failing to cite the AAER number.

A better book, which does what these authors failed to do and much more, is The Financial Numbers Game: Detecting Creative Accounting Practices. As a second choice, consider Financial Shenanigans: How to Detect Accounting Gimmicks & Fraud in Financial Reports, Second Edition.
