Editorial Reviews

May we also load the following description, taken from the sell sheet:
19 Recordings/BNA Records artist Casey James first emerged on the national scene with his third-place run on Season 9 of American Idol, but Casey had already been making music for more than a decade when he took his mom's advice to try out for the hit series. A native of Cool, Tx, James grew up surrounded by music; both his parents played guitar and sang, as did other family members, and Casey was playing guitar and performing throughout his young adulthood. His wide-ranging influences include artists such as Merle Haggard, Vince Gill, ZZ Top, and Bonnie Raitt, with a mix of '70s rock, blues, and outlaw country all helping to shape his style. Following his success on Idol, Casey set his sights on Nashville, touring with Sugarland in 2011 and playing his own shows while working on his upcoming debut album, Casey James.

Casey is currently giving fans a taste of what to expect on the album with the bluesy, goodtime feel of the first single, "Let's Don't Call it A Night," co-written with Terry McBride and Brice Long.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth The Wait! March 20, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Casey James has finally released his self-titled debut album in 2012. He came third in American Idol season 9 contest (Jan - May 2010), Lee DeWyze (the winner) & Crystal Bowersox (first runner-up) have both released their debut albums in 2011. I must confess that though Casey James came third, he was my favourite contestant (great voice, wonderful guitar playing, great down-to-earth personality & good looks of a star). I was glad he got signed by Sony Music Nashville and toured with Sugarland in 2011. The CD was initialy scheduled for release in 2011 but well it's now finaly here. I was quite nervous listening to his debut album as he may have 'lost' in the American Idol contest due to 'his inconsistency' but relax he delivers consistently very well some wonderful country rock music in this great debut album : great voice, wonderful guitars & production. This is very close to the music that I thought he would do considering his major influences being rock & country music. The CD (11 tracks) is worth the wait with stand-outs/gems/solid tracks including "Love The Way You Miss Me", "Undone" & "Miss Your Fire". The remaining (8) tracks are all great tracks including notably "The Good Life" (wonderful guitar sound), "Let's Don't Call It A Night" (the first single, great choice), "Drive" & "So Sweet" with no real weak track to talk of. He really gets rocking on "Tough Love" & "Workin' On It".

On overall, Casey James has released a great debut album to build-up his fan base he developed in 2010 as a contestant in American Idol season 9, in 2011 while touring with Sugarland as well as hopefully new ones with this new CD. A highly recommended CD listening.

5.0 out of 5 stars Killer Album March 20, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Highly recommend this album, it is definitely worth the money. You get blues, country, rock, and soul all wrapped up into one CD. There's rocking songs, love songs and feeling good about life songs. It's refreshing and just what country music needs.

The guitar work on this cd is amazing. Casey is talented, gritty , soulful. He reaches many genres, not strictly country .
