Apply for Grants and Win Money, January 1, 2011
This review is from: Cash In on the Obama $3 Trillion Spending Plan!: How to make large amounts of money by conducting business with or receiving grants from federal, state, and local governments (Paperback)
I really like this book. It helped me recently get my first job writing a grant with a professional. This book's easy to understand, step-by-step, and a great reference. Written by a pro, it gave me the confidence to try it.
Reading government solicitations for free grants, I found is overwhelming. Ed Benjamin's book breaks it down into bite size pieces that show "it's not rocket science," as he says. He shows us how to write such good grants that will "blow them out of the water," and win hands down. He should know, by 2009, he'd won 12 billion dollars in government grant money. This book is all we need to get started. Learn to apply for grants now, that's what I'm doing.

Step by Step Guide to Government Contracting Success, November 24, 2009
This review is from: Cash In on the Obama $3 Trillion Spending Plan!: How to make large amounts of money by conducting business with or receiving grants from federal, state, and local governments (Paperback)
This book is definitely a five star keeper! It is the real thing for anyone who truly wants to know the ins and outs of seeking to do business with the government.
All too often "experts" disappoint because theirs is only a superficial knowledge of the subject and the value of their summary is minimal at best.
Not in this case. Mr. Benjamin, a retired Air Force officer and civilian consultant, demonstrates deep and thorough knowledge of the mechanism(s) by which the government allocates its funding. Better yet, he has taken that expertise and packaged it in a clear and concise, yet detailed guide for the reader wishing to conduct business with the government.
Mr. Benjamin's guide book is not a "quick fix" nor is it intended to be. He cautions the user to perform due diligence by thoroughly studying each of the regulations and requirements which are found in the government's solicitations for suppliers of products and services.
Where Mr. Benjamin excels is in taking the reader along on the complex roadmap, shining the light of experience and expertise along the way so that the individual can proceed through the federal acquisition process. He illuminates the process for you.
This is not a book to be read once, memorized and set aside. Instead, it will find a place on the desk of anyone who at any time needs to again refresh himself or herself on the process. After all, the government continually needs these services and products. If you wish to offer yours, shouldn't you play to win? This book puts you way ahead of your competition.

Very Weak Information, December 19, 2010
This review is from: Cash In on the Obama $3 Trillion Spending Plan!: How to make large amounts of money by conducting business with or receiving grants from federal, state, and local governments (Paperback)
It took me about 30 minutes to read this very short book and I felt like the author is the one cashing in on the Obama spending plan by publishing a book with very little detailed information.
I'd recommend another book called "Winning Government Contracts: How Your Small Business can Find and Secure Federal Contracts Up To $100,000". I ordered both at the same time and found that title to be FAR superior and much more detailed and geared to be a reference if you actually want to start doing business with the government. "Cash In..." was very light in reference and it serves mostly to highlight a few major topics, but offers little advice on how to properly position yourself to win business. I'd say pass on this title.
