For those of you who saw the manufacturer's name Excalibur, put the words "casino" and "calculator" together, and thought, "Finally a device that I can take on my next junket to 'Lost Wages,' Nevada, to calculate my odds and count the cards!" Well, we're sorry to break the news to you. What you actually have here is a handheld game console that allows you to "wage against the Machine," playing stripped-down versions of blackjack, poker, baccarat, deuces, and slots. Flip the instrument over and you'll find an independent, full-service calculator for the real work you should be doing. Both LCD screens are large, clear, and uncluttered, all of which is refreshing among handheld games. And someone should thank Excalibur for making it easy (no screwdriver is required) to install the two AA batteries (not included). --Tony Mason
