5.0 out of 5 stars Look out, casinos, gambling just got easier., May 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Casino Gambling Made Easier: How a Rank Amateur Casino Gambler Can Learn to Win Using Intelligent Gambling (Paperback)
We purchased this book because we wanted to possibly expand the number of casino games we were playing. With all of the screams at the Craps and Blackjack tables, were we missing the fun? Our only game was slot machines before we read Gayle's statement,"If you play and learn only one other game, make it video poker." After studying the strategies in this book, we have found the FUN. My VP play seemed successful from the begining. My 4th trip delivered the "Royal Flush". My wife, also a beginner, has recently hit one as well. Even more astounding, to us, in a 3 week period this month we hit 19 VP and 2 slot jackpots. Making a 1999 total of 26 jackpots, so far. This book has improved our selecting slot machines and we never had any VP strategy previously. We are now ordering her book "Video Poker Made Easier", just in case this winning can indeed get easier. Thanks, Gayle.

4.0 out of 5 stars easy read with comprehesive winning strategies, February 1, 1999

This review is from: Casino Gambling Made Easier: How a Rank Amateur Casino Gambler Can Learn to Win Using Intelligent Gambling (Paperback)
Gayle's first book is an easy read and easy to understand--she offers not only the rules of five best bets, blackjack, craps, (mini)baccarat, slots and my favorite video poker but explains the best strategies to "attack" these games. She tells some good stories and offers best casinos in Vegas and Laughlin - I now have her second book.

Gayle Mitchell is one of the few lady gambling experts. Actually, "gambling" is a misnomer right now. Those who
are making money in casinos, these days, rarely just "gamble".
No -- they are "gamers". A "gamer" is a gambler who does
not,(entirely), trust to "Lady Luck", or other such ephemeral
winning devices. No. A "gamer" PRACTICES! And practices,
and practices, and practices, and practices, and....practices
some more. Any skill -- whether it's woodworking, swimming,
playing the piano, or driving a car -- takes PRACTICE, after
all, so why should gambling, (which -- except for keno and
the more erratic slot machines, truly is a skill -- a skill
with a little bit of chance within it -- but still, mostly
a skill), be any different?

Serious gamers also read up on their their favourite game(s),
and take very seriously the advice of professional gaming
authors. Some of these authors, (I'm not sure whether Ms.
Mitchell is one or not), in fact have played their games of
choice SO well that they have either become "banned" from
playing these games at various casinos -- or banned from
these casios completely! THAT'S when many casino experts
start to make money writing books! Of course, not every
author of books on casino games has been banned -- some
just want to make a little extra money with these books.
And / or want to "give back" to others trying to make
money from casinos. Because most professional, (or even
semi-professonal) gamers are, truly, good and decent
people at heart. For proof, just look at the "Charity
Poker Tournaments" so often played by members of the
Poker Players Alliance.

At any rate, Ms. Mitchell started, as most people in any
profession do, as an amateur. The "Introduction" to this
book describes how she first started gaming, and how she
went on from there. It also includes her observations on
gaming as a whole. In the succeeding chapters, she de-
scribes how to play, and how, in many instances, to win,
at various casino games. Her explanations are ALWAYS
clear, and delightfully understandable! The book is
printed on very white, (and probably non-acidic) paper,
(which will not crumble into dust in 20 years, but is
as permanent as paper can be! : ), has a nice rounded
spine, and a nice large print size.

Ms. Mitchell has also written a second book, "MORE
CASINO GAMBLING MADE EASIER" -- but of the two books,
this first one seems to have more and better information.

Buy this book! It has good, understandable advice from
a real pro! Buying, then reading this book is one very
easy, and one very big step that you can take, to be-
coming a winner, every time you go to any casino!
