5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest gambling book of all time, October 7, 1997
By
Packed with true grit and determination. Funny and witty at times. True stories from a 'high roller' hit home even for one who spends his time at the 2$ tables. Has saved me thousands. Even came away a winner a few times. Re read it every time I go back to Vegas. Wish I could have met the author. George S. Getz October 7, 1997

4.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have Book for the Craps Shooter, December 10, 2001
By
This is a great book to get if you are a novice craps shooter. It doesn't get into the step by step betting sequences like some other books. If that's what you're looking for than this isn't the bookto buy. This is an "attitude" book. It explains a few strategies and talks about the mental toughness to be a good craps shooter. The best part and biggest reason to buy is the exercise about rolling the dice and charting the outcomes! You'll be amazed!!

This review is from: Casino Gambling for the Winner (Hardcover)
I enjoyed this book because it had a realistic sense of what it is like to play and gamble in the Casinos in Vegas and Atlantic City. Mr. Stuart has "been there, done that". I have used with some success two of his "systems", on occasion. He knows percentages and how to use them, and his other advice on gambling is very helpful. We all know the house will always win in the long run, but he really puts it to them, in his lucky streak, and I believe, as does he, that is the only way to go.!! Great Reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gambling or life... both the same, January 19, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this for a friend. Much wisdom in these words by Lyle, and his advice can be applied to your life even if you never gamble. His Ten Rules on When You Should Not Gamble also apply to arguing with your wife (never gamble when tired... never argue with your wife when tired).

Don't buy if you are thinking of trying your hand at casino gaming but don't yet know the first thing about a crap table. He does not teach you how to play dice if you don't already know the setup. His mission is discipline, how to manage your money, which of the games you can skew the odds a little closer in your favor(2), and which games to simply do not go into the vicinity thereof! It is more on the philosophy and psychology of being a winner. Price ain't bad either, my copy of Doyle Brunson's book on poker cost me a t'ousand bucks! I read it and still I was the first one eliminated the year I bought into the WSP at Binion's... which was when there was a limit on how many could buy in and it was 99+1. That was the year the 'Sailor Man" got his "royal" only one I ever heard tell of!
