This is a WONDERFUL album. Al Jarreau and Randy Crawford really click as a duet pair on the three songs they sing together. Yellowjackets serve as a top notch backing band for most of the pieces on the album, and the tune they headline, Monmouth College Fight Song, is great loads of fun. Throughout the album, the musisians are really together and feeding off one another in the fine tradition of great jazz. The killer song here, tho, is Randy Crawford's cover of John Lennon's "Imagine". Probably the finest rendition of this song every recorded, it'll raise the hairs on your neck and land on you with every bit of emotion and feeling for humankind that Lennon put into that piece. "Casino Lights" is easily one of the best recordings in our music collection.

Great record - great variety of songs - stellar performances particularly by the guitarists.

This version, the one with 4 "bonus" tracks - is the one to own. Robben Ford fans will find one of his best solos ever on "Monmouth College Fight Song" with the Yellowjackets. Also, his solo on Randy Crawford's "Imagine" is wonderfully understated yet richly melodic supporting the song. Larry Carlton and Buzz Feiten are also here adding more guitar muscle. Three of the finest, most melodic players of the jazz crossover era- so this is a guitar players must have.

When Casino Lights came out in '82 I was 18 years old. I'd already been a fan of Sanborn, the Yellow Jackets Randy Crawford, Marcus Miller, Larry Carlton and a big fan of Al Jarreau's for 6 years. So when they got together for this baby, I was blown away and still is. Hats off to Claud Nobs for putting this together with Warner Bros finest talent at that time. I highly recommend this album. I'm 43 now and Casino Lights is still by far, my favorite "live recorded" album.

I had this a looooooooong time ago, maybe on tape, it was so long ago. One of the songs on it, Sure Enough, was very special to me. Lost my tape (?) and periodically over the years I've tried to find it on CD but it's never been available when I've checked. Then voila!!! The other day I checked on Amazon.com and there it was. I was so happy! Got the CD quickly, and wow, now I can hear some of my long time favorite songs again. Love the others by Al Jarreau and Randy Crawford, too.

Casino Lights is the ultimate classic, if you enjoy the 1980ish jazz/funk kind of music. It's a fantastic live album, a all time classic, and the way Randy Crawford and band performs "Imagine" is mindblowing. If there's a top-10 over must-haves, this is a clear participant on the list.

Had this recording on LP back in the 80s and still love it. I wanted to transfer the music to my computer so I could play it through my system but the music is blocked from any kind of copying. I don't want to steal and sell it. I just wanted to put it on the computer. Oh well.

More than I expected. Al Jarreau and Randy Crawford are a beautiful combination as a duet. David Sanborn is still the consummate musician, artist, etc. I also love the Crusaders and Randy Crawford is also on the album and she is marvelous.

Agreed! However, it has always bugged me that Neil Larsen and Buzz Feiten didn't use one of their (many) better tunes than what wound up on this cd. Robben and Larry sound GREAT(as usual). All in all, a fantastic set!
